Discussion: GOP Senator Says It's Not His Job To Speak Up When Trump Lies

The number of Republicans who are fit to hold public office is extremely small, approaching zero.

Bbbbut…they can’t call out such lies because they’re “fake news”! It’s the “lugenpresse paradox” I learned about in my quantum Trumpism class.

Fuck you you cowardly, anti-American sack of GOP shit.

OMG, you’re right! Didn’t even notice–just grabbed the first one I found on the net. Replaced with a new image. Apparently this is a wingnut meme: I also saw Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Hillary Clinton’s faces photoshopped onto Sgt. Schulz’s body.

Unfortunately, that would increase the influence of lobbyists, since they would be the only ones with institutional knowledge.

“I’m a complete bootlicking toady.” Notice how he didn’t answer the question – when asked about countering “lies” he said he couldn’t possibly correct everything he “disagreed” with.

The Idaho senator is a right wing wacko bird and a Mormon. They don’t come anymore dishonest and racist than that. If Trump was a black Democrat, he’d be calling for impeachment. Republicans only impeach democrats for lying - it’s in their very red book of republican communist rules.

Risch is the shitstain sycophant who played semantic games with Comey, trying to undo the clear intent, import and meaning Trump conveyed when he used the word “hope” to tell Comey he’d like him to nix the investigation. He’s an unabashed partisan douche and should be keel-hauled through a sewer.

Translation: Risch’s seat is Trump voter dependent.

I did not know Rep Green before seeing this, but he is now my hero. We need to put in the work now to ensure that Dems take the House and Senate back. Nothing will give me more joy than seeing every Trumpite idiot getting the schooling from hearings that Carson received here.

How quickly they forget the Oath of Office.

That statement implies they remembered it first, which I strongly doubt…

OH, right, Because your job stopped being a check and balance on the Executive to raising money for your re-election and we all know THAT is a full time job.

Best thing that can happen to America is using Designated Survivor as a training video except we’d end up with President DeVos, so on second thought, maybe we should use 1776 as the model.

Or better, 1917.

The oath used today has not changed since 1966 and is prescribed in Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code. It reads: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Thanks for reminding me. I think I'll start quoting it on my daily fax to my rep.

English translation: If I had to call out the President on each lie, I wouldn’t have time to reduce benefits for the poor and middle class in order to fund tax cuts for the rich.

The senator is a completely modern Republican. For him there is no difference between a disagreement and a lie. What he should point out is Trump’s lies, not disagreements he has with Trump. Two different things Republicans have forgotten.

Flake’s a Mormon. He managed to have a moment of political clarity.

Mr. Green brought out a large can of “Whoop Ass”…good for him. Carson is a clown, totally unfit for his office. Of course, that’s exactly why Trump picked him.

Thank you for posting this clip. Well done, Congressman. As for secretary carson? Pathetic showing by a vastly unprepared, unconcerned, unqualified cabinet member.
