Scott’s on all sides of history including the “both parties” chestnut. He’s either against trumpism and a Moore senate set or he’s not. The reader can take her pick.

If “my senator” Tim Scott wants to be on the right side of history, he needs to leave the GOP and become an independent if not a Democrat. He probably could not survive politically, but he would be better able to sleep at night. He and Graham will be mocked for a long time for their support of Trump and half-ass protests against the excesses of trumpism and the religious right (while not missing a photo opp or tv shot with Trump or one of the members of the cabinet). Nikki Haley will defeat one of these guys eventually.

History tends to remember mostly the brave and the constructive, along with an occasional outrageous criminal. People like you, Tim, the mediocrities and cowards, barely make an impression while they’re alive. They’re certainly not remembered a moment afterward.
Every time I see Tim Scott, I think of David Allen Grier and this classic bit from “Amazon Women On The Moon”:
