Discussion: GOP Senator: 'I Do Wish' Trump Would Host State Visits In DC, Not Mar-A-Lago

Yeah Joni, well wish in one hand, and shit in the other. What do you got?

I wish these half-witted, GOP backbenchers would quit pretending they aren’t “The Rubber Stamp Caucus”, because they are!

Boy she was really tough on him wasn’t she?

The grifter in chief can’t make any money if he hosts them at at the White House. It is all about the Benjamins.

Or if not, maybe they end up killing each other. Not a bad outcome from my perspective, either

Right. It’s about $3 Million per visit. Current conservative estimate of total is $25 Million.

I believe that actually he bills a good portion of the 3 million per visit, largely sketchy and unsubstantiated expenses.

How’s the guy supposed to make a buck if he hosts meetings at the White House?

This jerk needs to go, but the republicans are surprisingly clueless as to how that might happen. Hmmm.

How about something much more fun to look at?

That’s what I think it’s all about. There’s a woman (or two) who either lives near MaL or flies in on the weekends…I honestly think that’s the only reason why he’s constantly running off to FL.

Many of us wonder how the poor man can even take it!!

What the fuck did she do to her helmet? It seems so much more metallic-looking than before.

Mar-a-Loco…“Only the best for my guests!!” (in my best tRump voice). Too bad all of you can’t hear it. I’ve been practicing.

I think so, too. And this is another reason for not keeping or disclosing visitor logs.

That’s what I’ve been saying. Apparently, the very serious journalists that still have access to these morons are still not listening. I suppose the media are still waiting till it goes beyond critical mass…and blows the entire country to smithereens in the process. Needless to say, excuses for bad behavior along with illegal acts no longer suffice for most of us in this country.

If a guest orders a cup of coffee, what billing occurs? Now we surmise that mar-a-largo does not eat the cost of a coffee, right?

The hotel must bill the government then? Donald’s people approve the “expenses” and the Hotel gets a handsome markup? If the guests are staying overnight, the White House accommodation staff does nothing to service an empty bed even though their salaries need to be paid, while Trump’s hotel charges how much for the accommodation? Shouldn’t the White House charge back the cost of an overnight stay to the Trump organization? (Be careful of this dodge: Trump embarrasses the Diplomats/0fficials into having their own countries pay for the stay, which would be gratis if they stayed at the WH or at their Embassy quarters in Washington. The country buys influence with Trump by saying “oh the expense is no problem whatsoever!”)

Not to mention the inordinate amount of extra money it costs to keep the Secret Service in tow and at times at inflated prices just to keep the Rumpian Mafioso content.

Ya know, if McConnell can find some bullshit loophole to deny Pres. Obama’s Supreme Court pick to even get a hearing, I’m sure she and her caucus cohorts can spin something together to prevent the president from having state visits at his resort (if they really wanted to).

Because I bet if this were a Democrat they certainly would.

My Iowan husband just cringes whenever Joni comes up in the news. Poor guy is still trying to figure out how and why the Trump koolaid infiltrated so deeply in his home state.

Actually Donnie could still profit from state visited if said dignitary stayed at the Dump Hotel that’s just near to the White House. You know, the Flea Bag Hotel (bed bugs are free) in the Old Post Office Building.
