Makes you wonder what it is about THIS issue that makes loyal Republicans defy Trump.

Seriously, some analysis is needed here. Trump seems to have touched a previously un-touched nerve with his military parade idea.

I wouldn’t start cheering for him just yet. The headline is very misleading. Kennedy has shown he is more than willing to roll over for Trump and just about everything. If Trump pushes forward with his silly parade idea, Kennedy will roll over on that too, and be right beside the President on the day of the parade saying what a wonderful thing it is.

It could just be posturing on the part of Kennedy, but the logistics of assembling that many shiny new waxed tanks and troops who really have much better things to do is a consideration too.

I think it is the outright silliness, and the failure to actually contribute to established GOP initiatives.

It’s easy to point to numbers that say “oh, so-and-so has voted with Trump ninety-x percent of the time”, but the truth of the matter is that legislatively Trump has been a pretty conventional Republican president.

General Mattis also said the parade plans would have to go through the usual Congressional appropriations process for funding. Maybe he hopes it will die there in the factional fighting

This may not be the case, Kennedy is the one who exposed the totally unqualified judicial pick a few months back. The man don’t suffer fools.
