So the Republican Senators go on the record and by a party line vote explicitly defend Mr Session’s sacred honor.

Mr Sessions repays the courtesy by honestly admitting that the plain English words that he used in his sworn testimony were something short of the ‘whole truth’.

Republican Senators respond by giving Sessions a mulligan.

So much for “the rule of law”.
