Discussion: GOP Sen. Calls For Ariz. Local Party To Pull Sponsorship Of Trump Event

Sheriff Joe and Trump embracing in from of a wildly cheering crowd of retiree Repos should pretty well cement the Hispanic support the GOP desperately needs to make up for their dying base.

The crazies in AZ are mostly up north in Maricopa county (Phoenix). Here in Southern Arizona our politics are way more oriented toward democrats than Phoenix. What Iā€™m clumsily trying to say is politics in AZ is not uniform by any means. And it isnā€™t all tea baggery.
I spent some time with some Hispanic acquaintances and their take on Trump specifically and republicans in general is summed up in the epithet

pinche cabron!

ā€œI donā€™t think that [Trumpā€™s] views are reflective of the party, particularly in Arizona, a border state.ā€

No, Jeffy, they are a plank in the Republican Party platform.

"I donā€™t think that [Trump's] views are reflective of the party, particularly in Arizona, a border state."

If Flake doesnā€™t think Trumpā€™s (and Arpaioā€™s) views are reflective of his party, then he is in the wrong party.

"Itā€™s not just on the immigration side. Donald Trump is just about the last unapologetic birther in the country," Flake told the Post.

And Joe Arpaio is the other one.

That would be degenerative dealing. Trump would be trading in a much bigger and richer market for a smaller and less financially well off, niche market. Its a huge hit to his revenue stream, which I suspect, he is already feeling.

In Arizona ------itā€™s a dry hate so should not be considered racismā€¦lol

Meanwhile, his dog killer kid is suing the county for 8 million dollars, because he was arrested for animal cruelty. In which 28 dogs died while in his care.

Sheriff Joe needs to throw the book at that kid!

failed dem policy toward immigration?? if I remember right more people have been deported under this president, immigrants have stopped flooding in like they were during the last republicon president ā€¦more border guards and more security on the border ā€¦what have the republicons done to solve this ā€¦throw money at it with little or no results to stem the flow of immigrants coming across the borderā€¦typical elephant BS tossed at the wall knowin the people they pander too wont question what they are told

Oy vey!

Ever since I heard Flake on Wait Wait Donā€™t Tell Me I have a certain amount of respect for him. Granted I very rarely agree with him, but he willing went into the belly of the beast knowing he was going to be made fun of. But he came out and sometimes he does stuff I like. Doing those 2 things puts him ahead of about 90% of current Senators in my book.

Thereā€™s nothing insane or inane about that claim.

Sanders, Leahy, Baldwin, Mikulski, Murray, Shaheen, Stabenow, Boxer, Cantwell, Brown, Blumenthal, Warren, Gillibrand, Hirono, Franken, Durbinā€¦

So which six of these is Flake better than?

Obama, Tester and Flake are the ones I see on a brief check of going on the show as Senators. And I will ask why havenā€™t those others been on the show? Dick Durbin? Come on. Is he for Illinois public radio or no?

And yeah I guess that I do like Senators to take a punch and roll with it. Worked for Obama.

On what show? You put Flake ahead of 90% of the Senate. I gave you 16% of the Senate and asked you which he ranked ahead of. Your answer reply was completely out of left field. Answer or donā€™t, but donā€™t waste my time with shows.

Wait wait Donā€™t Tell Me, the NPR News Quiz

And this has what relationship, may I ask, with someoneā€™s being a good senator? Personally, I wouldnā€™t want to touch NPR with a 10-foot implement. Once in a while something good shows up on All Things Considered, but the rest is trash. Good shows on public radio tend to be local; this is true of music and interview shows both.

So, which of the senators whom I listed would be behind Jeff Flake in ranking the quality of their service in the senate? Huh?

Iā€™m not sure a lot of people understood that. But thatā€™s fucking hilarious!
