No speaking out of turn and no eye rolling. It makes me feel bad about myself.

I live in the DC area. We sometimes have guests from out of town (from the Midwest and South) who walk in the door talking about the horrible people in Washington, the corrupt people in politics. I always tell them the same thing, “Then stop sending these assholes here. We don’t like them either and we have to live and work around them.”

Barton : “I did…allow him the opportunity to voice his concerns”

Spicer: “such a great country that allows you to be here,”

It seems those guys like to allow don’t they?

And pushing state constitutional amendments to end gerrymandering alla Florida. Every state should have a progressive grassroots movement to accomplish this task. It is an issue with broad appeal with both liberal and conservative voters. Due to institutional pressure, the political parties will never do this for us.

It’s strange that these folks are beginning to sweat about the midterms when they’re such masters of charm, wit and, most of all, public relations. Hell, there is no off switch!

And let’s not get started with their intellectual abilities.

It’s not just angry people yelling at their R reps. It’s Dems as well. There was a lot of pressure put on Feinstein (my senator) to attend a town hall in Oakland. No one is happy with how Congress conducts itself, it’s been that way for years.

If God is the God Barton envisions, He is one fucked-up Supreme Being.

I truly believe that they have forgotten the work for all of us.

Yes, they have, but with only 124 work days a year, it’s hard for them to remember they work at all.

@dickweed It’s impolite and hostile and all that to yell questions and ignore any procedures for asking questions, but it’s a result of being ignored by their representative for so many years. They’re frustrated and this may be the only shot they have for making themselves actually heard. Have you written a congress critter lately? You’ll ask about aging infrastructure for instance, and they’ll write back and say thank you for your concerns about national security.

Well a bunch of folks shouting at the same time can make it hard to get anything done. I mean I understand anger about a bullshit answer, but if you point it out in a calm manner allows more folks to hear what’s going on.

Just as big of a problem are the slack jawed voters who forget that as well. Getting all deferential and everything.

Very paternalistic.

And patronizing.

I told my boss I would come to my annual review, if he promised not to say that I needed to work on anything.

The reason why some politicians have the audacity to actually tell one of his or her constituents to "shut up’’ is because he felt this particular constituent he had NO repercussions against him, these gerrymandered district are constructed whereby the politicians picks their suckers…oops…I mean constituents. They use to ‘fear’ their constituents once upon at time, but, now they have NO trepidation ignoring people’s concerns, especially if they assume you’re NOT from their party or camp – total dismissal. Hopefully people will come out in droves and defy the ‘stacked deck’ in 2018.

Steve King is actually from Iowa, or was that Illinois, or … you know, one of those flat states in the middle.

Never mind.
