Discussion: GOP Rep. Says He'll Introduce Bill To Cover Those With Pre-Existing Conditions

Including, evidently, the millions of Trump voters using Obamacare.

Patient Protection I should have added is also going to be a thing of the past as well. That amount that insurers have to put towards actual care instead of phony overhead administrative costs, will also go out the window, insuring cost containment will skyrocket even further.

Next you’ll be able to buy car insurance after you have an accident. Or home insurance after your house burns down.

Too bad we can’t buy insurance for our country to pay for the pre-existing condition called Trump.

People with pre-existing conditions could ALWAYS get insurance before the ACA (stoopid mutherfucker ever hear of high-risk pools that pre-existed the ACA?)

its the the concept of insurance you can AFFORD while having PRE-EXISTING medical conditions,

sounds like the bill you are proposing is a waste of paper

Hey, maybe that is the solution, allow Americans to purchase health insurance across international boundaries in addition to the never ending mantra of purchasing across state lines,

I choose to purchase my health insurance from just about any other industrialized country on the planet!

He promises to introduce a bill Real Soon Now. And of course it will sail through committee, and every other republican in the House and Senate will vote for it. Even if it does nothing to make actual care affordable, or requires that you have no interruption of coverage ever, there will be republicans who will vote against it.

Don’t bore me with the details, congressman. Just show me where I can sign up for the “insurance for everybody” that’s “better and cheaper” than the ACA that Trump has guaranteed.

Wow! What a terrific idea! Why didn’t Obama think of that?

He doesn’t say cover them with what? Bullshit is my guess? Figurative or literal i am not sure.

sorry, Walden, you asshole. You’re going down with Trump. When they come with the pitchfork, torches, and AK’s for Trump, they’ll come for you too.

For Christ’s sake, how many ‘plans’ will these cretins pull out of their azzes before they give up and just tell people to quietly FOAD?

Whatever they do, it will suck. It’s what they do.

Does his bill also ensure they wont be charged more for them, as well as not being denied coverage, like Obamacare does? Nobody’s talking about that. NEVER listen to what Republican politicians say…always listen to what they dont say.

How’s he going to pay for it?

Sorry guy but Greg Walden’s district (which includes the Malheur Wildlife Refuge) is one of the safest reddest seats in the nation.

More of those libertarian welfare ranchers per capita than any place on the planet.

Just as meaningless as passing 50 some repeal bills under Obama and Trump’s doesn’t mean anything specific (and likely little actual effect) executive action, but he can take the credit for being caring before the gut the whole thing. They either have no clue how insurance works, or they don’t care. I’m more convinced it’s the second - though their actions will crater the entire system if they actually pull all the insane things they plan. They will hve Obamacare to blame it on, of course.

It’s just as likely to happen, though Canada might get tired of being dissed and give it a shot.

A sad excuse to do nothing.

Yep. It looks like he’s suggesting going back to something similar to those high risk health insurance pools states used to have.

Sadly, those plans were god awful and next to worthless, as they were so expensive as to price out most folk who would actually qualify for them. They were incredibly crappy, and immensely inefficient in every way. Yet many desperate families still applied for them because they had no choice, to the point that some states even had lotteries to pick who could join them.

Ah yes, the wonder years of the USA health insurance market, where if you don’t have a job with insurance or can afford individual insurance, then you can go f*ck yourself and die in a corner somewhere. Preferably where your GOP representatives don’t have to look at your wasted sickly corpse. :expressionless:
