We will ensure that bills are debated and discussed in the public square by publishing the text online for at least three days before coming up for a vote in the House of Representatives. No more hiding legislative language from the minority party, opponents, and the public. Legislation should be understood by all interested parties before it is voted on.
Yep, the clock starts as of today. THe GOP may not realize it now bit, in hindsight, they will. I believe this is going light a use to a powder keg that will take a while to burn.
The reason I’m saying this is because, right now, Rump is in the Rose Garden proclaiming his EO on religious freedom. I believe that religion will become one of those “third rails” in politics in a way that America isn’t used to. It’s was always considered a given in this country that religion was a big part of American life. No longer. Health insurance, plus religion, will crack this country wide open.
Turgidson: Mr. President, I’m not saying we wouldn’t get our hair mussed, but I do say no more than 10 to 20 million killed, tops! Uh, depending on the breaks
I’m old enough to remember when the Republicans successfully inserted over 1,000 insurance company friendly amendments to the ACA and then furiously bitched and moaned that they did not have enough time to read the consolidated amended statute. As a matter of fact, not a single one of them voted for the amended Bill and many cited the lack of time to read as their reason. But, being absolutely full of shit is one of the main features of the Modern Grand Old Dixiecrat Party.
They are “debating” a bill they haven’t read? They think this is 5th grade and they are writing Red Badge of Courage book reports on the bus headed to school.
This dingleberry is the representative for my district. Back in the fall, when a couple yahoos started “patrolling” a parking lot outside the local Dem office with their personal rocket launchers, he lauded it as exercising their God-given right to display their virtue in public. Preposterone and all, dontcha know. I just called his office, and of course his phone is out of order today. What an unfortunate coincidence! So I let him have it on email instead.
