I just can’t do this anymore. I’m exhausted from the hypocrisy and the insistence by some that we pretend that ‘reasonable minds can disagree’ of the sale of assault weapons.
You can’t stage a decent massacre with a revolver, single action deer rifle or 5 shot 12 gauge.
Everyone knows exactly how these things happen so let’s stop indulging those who say otherwise.

This one’s my favorite. It seems to suggest because criminals will break laws we shouldn’t bother having laws. The difference would be if we made it illegal to sell or manufacture certain guns that the ostensibly law abiding manufacturers and retailers would actually follow the law and not sell them.

Thoughts and prayers don’t stop bullets. Do these politicians think that is all that they have to do? We need to stop letting them get away with the typical canned answers on these mass shootings. They continue to tell us that getting rid of the AR-15 won’t stop the killing. That we shouldn’t act in haste. That we need to get all the facts first. We’ve got the facts. These weapons were designed for one thing and one thing only. To kill quickly and efficiently.
When the shoe bomber tried to blow up a plane by igniting his shoe while on board they immediately changed the rules for flying. Now we all have to take off our shoes for screening. We didn’t have any politicians saying we shouldn’t act in haste.
When they found out terrorists had come up with a new liquid explosive they immediately changed the rules for allowing liquids on planes.
Guns have killed more people in the U.S. than any terrorist and yet when we beg and plead for some action on gun control we get nothing. All we get are thoughts and prayers.
We must demand that they reinstate the assault weapons ban.

Only the entire rest of the civilized world proves their arguments wrong. That’s all, just the rest of the world that has mental illness, a ban on assault weapons, fewer guns per capita, and no mass murders like us. There is something that can be done - ban the assault weapons, both new sales and continued possession of those already out there. Take the guns away. But, no. We know better. Thoughts and prayers. USA, USA. #MAGA. So sorry for your loss, but nothing - nothing - could have prevented this tragedy.

We take good news where we can find it. Thomas issued a 14-page dissent.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to hear a Second Amendment challenge to a California law that imposes a 10-day waiting period on firearms purchases.
As is their custom, the justices gave no reasons for deciding not to hear the case. The court has turned away many Second Amendment cases in recent years, to the frustration of gun-rights groups and some conservative justices.
