How bizarre is it that a Virginia resident should be arguing that candidates for state offices should ignore state and local issues–which are, after all, the ones that they can affect–in favor of national issues.

This is nothing more than a cynical effort to explain away the election results without acknowledging that the GOP has been severely weakened by Trump. Usually, with a President of your party who is so unpopular, you would run on local issues and try to avoid national issues.

Uh, yeah, those steep increases are a direct result of Trump’s fucking around with payments to insurance companies and assistance to those in need. Idjit.

My advice to Mr. Brat and other Republicans: Keep on “nationalizing” your message – make sure you tell the people you support policies that throw poor and middle-income people off their insurance plans and drastically increase premiums for the rest. Please keep doing that. Make Virginia–and the nation–even more BLUE.
