Discussion: GOP Leaders Will Honor Flake's Request To Delay Kavanaugh Vote One Week

Let us hope that the FBI gets the approval necessary to proceed, and that they do so with serious purpose.

I think she’s at a DC bar with Susan Collins, both scarfing down a bunch of Flaming Kavanaughs, the new drink sensation made with 190-proof Everclear, Hawaiian Punch, schadenfreude tears, and ruined political careers.

Somewhere, there are FBI agents who have just been told that their weekend plans have been shot to hell.

Oh, and possibly their careers.

ā€œFlake announced that he would only vote for Kavanaugh on the Senate floor if the White House directed the FBI to conduct a probe into the sexual misconduct claims against Kavanaugh.ā€

Can anyone point exactly to where Flake was this categorical?
I did not hear it.

I’m guessing it will be in five minute increments, unless Grasshole completely loses control of the clock, like he did yesterday anytime a GOP toddler acted out…

Pray it is so, the sooner they get started the better. Don’t eat up the ā€œweek delayā€

If any of the witnesses to the incident described in the Colorado letter come forward or even talk to the FBI confidentially, it’s game over.

It’s called the truth.
They don’t know what to do with it.

You can tell it’s Infrastructure Week when the Republicans are in charge, because it goes on forever but still not one fucking bridge has been built.

Officially acknowledging that Flake actually did some work for his damn country this one time, after all that dancing around between the president-elect days and today.

I think there is a subtext here. Either (a) they KNOW that the investigation will turn up something that will kill the nomination (or cause it to be withdrawn) or (b) they KNOW that the investigation will turn up nothing and therefore Collins, Flake, and Murkowski can vote for it (possibly with Red State Democratic support). But in either case they are seeking confirmation, not information.

The only subtext here is that Flake’s move boxed in Collins and Murkowski, making it impossible for them to vote to confirm without an investigation and so McConnell doesn’t have the votes to ram it through tomorrow.

FBI Investigation Notes

  1. Made phone call to Mark Judge’s lawyer.
  2. Interviewed Mark Judge
  3. Filed report on possible perjury.

This nomination is dying a long, slow, painful death and all because the Trump and some of his far right supporters can’t accept reality. The longer it drags out, the worse the Republicans look. Excellent!

It’s quite possible they won’t even have time to nominate and confirm someone else before January because this moribund nomination is being dragged out for so long. If the Dems take back the Senate (and they just might) it over. A 4-4 split until 2021.

Slow news day huh?

I feel like I’m getting whiplash. Every time I have 10 free minutes to check in something new is going on

Note the scope limitations. ā€œCurrentā€. ā€œCredibleā€. Who decides what is credible? And which of the current 3 or 4 allegations against Kavanaugh are ā€œcredible?ā€ Are they all ā€œcurrent?ā€

Let’s all raise a beer to Senator Flake.

Does he like beer, too?

Murdoch mierde, oops, media, yeah Murdoch media’s CWallace doesn’t like Kava-nah’s odds in the event of an investigation’s delay to the vote.

Let’s hope it gives Mr. Avenatti enough time to set the final demolition charge to this horseshit nomination, once and for all.
