Discussion for article #230736
How’s that lawsuit going, Boeh-Boeh?
The Grand Useless Party.
In other words: we got what we wanted from the useful idiots.
Yeah, we’ve heard this bit before, about how the GOP’s leadership might have found a way to waggle their finger at the President without being gelded by the Tea Party backbenchers, only for an 11th hour revolt to shred those plans.
Even if Boehner can somehow convince the ankle-biters not to run the nation through the wringer again, its with the knowledge that his position will not be any more secure in March. While his majority may have increased, it has been mostly composed of the sort of nuts who could only get elected in a low-turnout year, leaving him even less room to maneuver in the spring.
Someone always bangs the cage and the howler monkeys get whipped into a frenzy. Just wait a bit.
Give it a couple weeks; TPM will be running a story about how the GOP is threatening to impeach Obama and threatening to shutdown government.
My money’s on Cruz, but it could just as easily be Paul. Or even Rubio, hoping to make up for his “betrayal” by supporting the Senate’s reform bill.
"This is a serious breach of our Constitution, it's a serious threat to our system of governing," Boehner told reporters. "And frankly, we have limited options, limited ability to deal with it directly."
Yeah, but what does the real Speaker of the House, Ted Cruz, say about it.
It is a fantasy, created by the left, that Ted Cruz has any power in Congress. The facts are the Speaker controls the agenda in the House and the Senate Majority leader controls the agenda in the Senate and not some junior Senator, regardless of his support among a small percentage of one political party.
“…Five months ago, conservative were so livid…”
It was “pretend livid” from the start.
Why do we always buy into the fallacy they want us to believe? Why continue it now?
Why does it look like Steve King is taking the oath of office by swearing on a box of Krispy Kremes?
Horsecrap.

How did Cruz manage to force the House into the government shutdown of 2013 against the wishes of Boehner? Boehner has little control over his unruly caucus in the House. Try paying attention to what’s actually happening instead of what Fox News thinks you should be paying attention to.
You amaze me.
You will go to any length—and tell any lie----to defend conservatives in Congress, despite all the facts that don’t support your silly claims.
In Boehners own words:
“The President is playing with fire and when you play with fire you’re going to get a nice warm towel.”
“Whaaaat’??” scream the Tea Potty Putzes!!!
…They then put it on “Cruz control” and insist their ~snicker!~ House & Senate “leadership” ____IN—PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACH!’ "

Cruz did not force the House into a government shutdown. If Boehner didn’t support a government shutdown, the government wouldn’t have shutdown. If Boehner wanted to have a vote on providing funds for the “border crisis”, there would have been a vote.
Cruz may have a little sway with radio talk show host and with a handful of back benchers in the House but the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority leader controls the agenda, not Ted Cruz.
Defend what conservatives? I am actually opposing the created conservative boogie-man Ted Cruz. Speaker Boehner is not a conservative, he is an establishment Republican, so how am I defending conservatives in Congress?
I’m still expecting the Whorehouse of Representatives to furlough us for Christmas.
You didn’t read the article, did you? Here, try this one:
I’ll bet you won’t read that one either since you already know everything you want to know.
Boehner doesn’t control the agenda in the House except procedurally. Big Money controls the agenda in the House. Cruz is just a spokesman for Big Money.
