Discussion: GOP Leaders: Obama Economy Has Improved But Only For The Rich (VIDEO)

Boner and Turtle’s complaint is, ahem, “rich”.

“Well, isn’t that rich?” has never been a more appropriate statement.

With everything the GOP has done since 1980 to transfer more wealth and power to the wealthy and powerful, sadly often with the help of the Democrats, this is too much. Six year of browbeating Obama and calling him a socialist, communist, and America hater for making only a few milquetoast efforts to rein in the regulatory issues that got us here, now Republicans are claiming Obama hasn’t done enough for the ordinary guy.

I’d actually celebrate this revelation if I thought they were sincere; there is a lot to criticize the Obama administration about on this score. But there is no doubt it is purely election-speak.

Are you sure they’re not picking our pockets?

Boehner and McConnell…you guys try my patience…you really do. You tout tax cuts for big corporations and for the rich “job creators” AND NOW YOU BLAME OBAMA FOR A HUGE INCOME BOOST AT THE TOP ???
The sheer in-your-face mendacity is epic…biblical in fact.
And top it off that we aren’t supposed to remember what your frigging values are?
Generally I don’t use nasty language but this is just too much.

Boehner, McConnell…eat shit and die.

I really hate liars.

That’s what I meant when I called them liars
Nice snark btw.

Yes the wealthy got richer because you made sure of that by voting against everything that would have benefitted the little people.

Pity a decent journalist wasn’t there to ask what specific legislation they have authored and helped pass targeting help for the middle class and poor in their careers.

“Boehner said income inequality — an issue that progressive advocates,
Democratic lawmakers and Obama have increasingly highlighted recent
years — is something Republicans want to tackle.”

If this is true, John, then why have you and your republican thugs advocated for tax cuts for the wealthy because they are job creators? And tax cuts for big corporations because it’s “good for business”. Since Reagan’s trickle down my leg economics I’ve been waiting for that trickle to show up. Now I’m retired and you want to privatize or ruin Social Security some other way thereby shafting the middle class out of a decent retirement.
You guys really piss me off. You have no shame, no honor and truthfulness does not abide in you.

You have in the past acted on behalf of the rich. You cannot deny it. And since you have here in this article I call you what you are:
FUCKING LIARS.

Rest assured that not only will I never vote for a republican, I’ll work my ass off to make sure none are elected because you are a cancer in our country and I look to excise you tumorous people.

I thought that according to the GOP base, America was turning into a socialist, Marxist hellhole.

because you both did everything in your power to make sure they did not succeed so you could blame Obama but he was not the one voting against the interests of the average American, you two were.

It’s interviews like this that almostmake me wish my religious upbringing had stuck. Because then I could believe that these guys have chosen to burn in hell for eternity.

“I thought that according to the GOP base, America was turning into a socialist, Marxist hellhole.”

that was the talking point from 08-12.

If they care about inequality they would pass middle class tax cut and offer free community college. What a disaster the GOP are.

What a crock of shit!

The GOP “plan” for income inequality is the one we have now. And it’s working. Income is becoming more and more unequal and that’s the way they want it.

Now they just have to repackage it so that it looks different on the outside. It’s all marketing remember.

They don’t give a damn about the middle class. That much is obvious.
They actually said the day after the SOTU speech that tax cuts for the middle class was “dead on arrival”. Their words btw. And NOW they are saying that income inequality is Obama’s fault? Is it not CONGRESS that writes tax law? Has something changes since I took Civics in middle school? Has the Constitution been rewritten?

Amendment XVI:
" The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes. from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration." (my bold and italics)

OK then, just how is OBAMA responsible for income redistribution exactly? Has this amendment been done away with?

As I said up thread…I really hate liars.

Try the Benny Hill theme.

They’re entrapping themselves with this argument. Just watch. The cognitive dissonance will explode on the voting floor when tax reforms come up.

Day is night and night is day with the GOP. Their mendacity is Orwellian.
