That is the Deep State outside the US Government, a network of ultra-conservatives, mostly white males, who will not stop at anything to hold on to power.
“triply-conflicted,”
Wasn’t that the tRump boys garage kazoo band name?
“I think partisanship may be getting in the way of rational thought,”
Projectionn
.
Grassley calls the Democrats request “costly” while Burck hired 50 lawyers? 50? If they had to read every page, sure, but that’s not what they were doing.
Far be it in this maladministration ever to appear to be aboveboard, non-partisan and above suspicion. It thrives on this.
For several years in a row a legal publication named him a “White Collar MVP.”
WTF does that even mean?
He’s right you know. His partisanship is getting in the way of his rational thinking.
They seem to be running out of players, and are having to triple up on conflicts… I meant jobs.
“White Collar MVP?” Given his client roster, I think the term “mob lawyer” is more accurate.
He’s the “Better Call Saul” equivalent for the white male elite.
No. I believe the name of the band formed by Trump’s two genetically-defective spawn and Jared “Future Sing-Sing Sexpot” Kushner was “Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Smegma”. A 1970’s tribute band, created in honor of Donald Trump’s death-defying battles during the Great Venereal Disease Wars of 1974 and the Studio 54 Hookers-and-Blow Offensive of 1979. He received the Purple Spirochete Medal for his service to our nation.
So if you read his client list, this guy is essentially the corporate-law equivalent of Manafort. And no, it’s not reassuring that a law professor named after one of the folks who put the Shah of Iran in power says he’s not an extreme conservative.
Burck was lead counsel to FIFA in the international football association bribery scandal and for insurance giant AIG over claims it misled the federal government during the 2008 finance crisis. He was counsel to the Koch-backed Americans for Prosperity in its challenge to a California campaign finance law that required nonprofit groups to disclose their membership…
Look at that client list: Burck is all about comforting the comfortable and assisting in the advancement of corruption.
I just can’t believe there isn’t some sort of rule or precedent that would prohibit a President who is under investigation for something as serious as being a puppet of a foreign government from being allowed to nominate a Supreme Court Justice.
Guys like this are why we need more women and people of color in government. I’m sure the descriptions of him as a nice guy are all true - but his life experience is not that of most people. We don’t have rich daddies and connections to get us into law school and clerking for a Supreme. We have part time jobs and student loans and we don’t get to start at the top. He cannot possibly understand the real world.
So, basically, wherever groups with lots of money are doing corrupt, evil, illegal, unethical, and/or un-American things, Burck will be there to represent them.
In other words, Burck’s a typical Republican.
Add him to the growing list of those who actively seek to destroy our democracy and who must be punished. In a real democracy those documents would belong to the people and some two bit turd like this wouldn’t be able to say squat.
