Well Costelloās out the door, so he can get by with this. Amash often speaks out but always falls in line. Not as familiar with Curbelo, but guessing he is acting on the reality that Costelloās tweet suggests (that this is BAD for gopers in certain districts), but that in the end he will. like Amash, always fall in line to vote with Trump.
All hat and no cattle.
Trumpās dubious claim? This is not the AP Kate.
It doesnāt seem legal that trump can change the Constitution by Executive Order.
He canāt scrap it. Itās considered part of the 13th Amendment.
I love how these Republicans want broad immigration reform, where were they when this was tried in 2013? Republicans canāt even agree among themselves what they want and how to go about working within their own party.
Whoāll stop him?
What will Kavanaugh and the conservatives say though? What matters here is what the Supreme Court decides on how far the Unitary Executive theory extends.
Seems untenable in my mind, but was such for other things too before they happened.
Precisely why Iām not convinced that heāll be stopped.
So exactly how many Americans does Trump plan to deport? What countries will take them?
Donāt the fans of the unitary executive realize there will be a Democratic President in the future? Then they throw their pet theory out the window? It only applies to Republican Presidents?
As with deficits and illicit sex, only Democrats are held to account. The GOP get a pass.
Donāt be so quick to dismiss the legal shenanigans available to the Federalist Society ideologues sitting in the SCOTUS:
Thereās also this batshit they like to fling around, but that seems far less likely to be the route they attempt to take:
The former is a REAL danger. Very real. Prior to Justice Stolenseat and Justice Rapeypants getting confirmed, Alito and Roberts had already established themselves as sophists of galactic proportions, willing to engage in the kind of false hair-splitting Dr. Jones is describing in her tweet thread. Itās their bread and butter.
But if SCOTUS decides that āPumkin Headā can āchangeā the Constitution, it would mean that he could also replace any/all of THEM with all of his other cronies. He could even move the court to Mar a Lago if he wanted.
Costello has been my congresscritter - and I think this makes the third thing heās ever said that I agree with. All statements made since he decided not to run in the newly redrawn district. Because it was obvious he would lose in the new boundaries, but ā¦ Chrissy Houlahan for Congress!
Thatās because it isnāt. The only question is whether the SC majority is in the least bit interested in what the Constitution actually says. All signs so far point to no.

Costello is considered one of the most bi-partisan members of congress, and Curbelo and Amash are first generation Americans. Letās hear what Ryan and McConnell have to say. Iām sure theyāll just wave it off again or remain silent.
