Bottom line is they will throw as much red meat as possible at the 46%ers. Don’t really need any discipline for that. Those folks have already shown that anything else goes. ETA: They know they have to get all those folks back to the polling places or the party is over.

Media are rife with stories about how Trump formed his 2020 reelection campaign on inauguration day in 2017, and has been furiously and successfully raising money ever since. Money figures in excess of $100 million are commonly cited for just the official campaign committee, with likely equal or greater amounts to be depended upon from independent PACs and others. So, what gives with GOP reservations over money issues? I can see them concerned about discipline, message and organization, but money?

Put me down as a Dem donor who worries that Dems have no plan or discipline for 2020.

We have had two and a half years of the most catastrophic, scandal-ridden, and divisive Republican government in living memory, which is saying something. Dems should have long ago adopted one to three mantras about the Republicans (not Trump). For example,

“What has happened to the Republican party?”
“Republicans always bankrupt the country. They’re doing it again.”
“The Republican party is unfit for power.”

If Dems had the discipline to utter one of these simple, truthful mantras every time they saw a microphone or a camera, it would be worth at least 3 points in 2020. It’s called negative branding. And it’s a total mystery why politicians bent on political survival won’t do it.

Why should he have a plan or discipline? He can just sit back, stuff his face with Big Macs and let the Russians, Arabs, et all do all the work for him. All he has to do is have Klan rallies.

The party will settle on a nominee soon enough, but in the interim it would seem a big pile of early money and organization efforts will be divided up over a multitude of contenders. I understand Dems wanting to be inclusive, and giving as many people as possible the feeling their concerns are being addresed by someone in the field, so maybe the more the merrier early on here. But sheesh, do we really need a dozen or more hats in the ring?

The media has his back… they loved the easy stories and clickbait the president provides… Online articles that amount to a retweet… etc… He’s a cash cow for them.

They will do what they can to keep the gravy train running.

If they hold on they might just get a war to cover as well… sweet, sweet, Pulitzer prize generating war…

You’re worried, donors? Didn’t you tell us approvingly not so long ago that this was an “unconventional” president, that he’d been elected to “shake things up,” etc. etc.? It’s not that he doesn’t have a plan and doesn’t have discipline, fuckfaces. You could see that from day one. It’s that he’s losing. Bummer! But you’re stuck with him now. Enjoy.

It’s revolting that these donors aren’t worried that the President is an unschooled, degraded narcissist-borderline fascist with no understanding of his job, government, or preserving our Constitution, but yeah their other concerns are good too.

Some donors are also fretting because Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager, has little experience in running a presidential campaign.

That’s okay, donors, Russia has it covered.

(I wonder how many of those donors are being charge with solicitation in the Florida massage parlor scandal.)
