Have you tried getting an alternative ID? It’s surprisingly difficult. You have fees to get documents that are high for low income people, birth certificate requirements for people who never had one, standards made up by the clerks at the time, difficulties with transportation for many people. Disenfranchising legitimate voters is the purpose, not a bug.
