This has to make the person,or persons, who wrote the Op-Ed know they are not the only cowards. 
I don’t look for it to happen, but it would be wonderful for the Times and their mole to push the envelope and publish additional letters. Maybe a tome detailing concrete proof of obstruction for starters. Or other verifiable crimes corroborated by evidence already in Mueller’s possession. Let Anonymous evolve from a detractor claiming a patriot’s motivations to an informant for the law. Then we’ll all see what a meltdown really looks like.

I see they found a phrase that the Dotard can understand.
Well these are the actions of an innocent man who is interested in clearing things up.
IOW they are afraid that even with written answers tRump will perjure himself.

Trump’s lawyers are limited in knowledge to what Trump admits to them he’s done and said. Mueller submits a question. Trump and his legal team decide on an answer, based on the input Trump provides his lawyers. It’s not so much his lawyers fear Trump will lie to Mueller. They can’t even be sure Trump will provide them the truth in order to respond to Mueller. He’s sure to lie to Mueller because he’s lying to his lawyers before it ever gets to that stage.
At some point in the foreseeable future, he’s not going to have that option. Even assuming that he does now.
