Discussion: Giuliani: Trump Told Comey To Give Flynn 'A Break' During Probe

Oh, so that was the first crap Rudy vomited in his first TV reappearance in a few weeks… after vomiting the Iran regime change crap.

How much is he getting paid for this crap gig, and by whom?

This sounds about right, and Giuliani has done a few times already, probably thinks its better to get it out, than insist on easily provable lie. Now it just makes the morons at fox look stupid because they have been parroting Trump’s B’S all along.

Please go on counselor. What else is actually true that Trump has denied?

I was going to say that: how many people who asked you to ‘lay off’ or ‘go easy’ were your f-ing BOSS.

Ah remember the days when an administration official (yes Rudy is not officially in the administration but…) would go on a Sunday morning show and defend the WH’s policy or position with law, policy, or precedent?
Is there anyway we could bring a class action law suit against this administration and the GOP for psychological abuse?

Here’s my first musical pick of the week.

Note to self, if accused of a capital crime, do not call Giuliani.

I read Eric’s deposition in the Jupiter golf club case. This was the case brought by members of a club that Two-Scoops bought from Ritz-Carlton, and changed the membership rules to make the previously refundable memberships non-refundable. (Just a minor change when you consider that memberships cost only a couple hundred grand.) A district judge ruled in favor of the members and ordered Two-Scoops to pay them about $4.5 million; Two-Scoops appealed, and the case was settled, pursuant to Two-Scoops’ principle of never settling. The case was in court during the campaign but didn’t get a lot of attention.

Anyway, Eric’s deposition was a hoot. Every time he was asked a question that put him on the spot, as if on cue, he began to spout off a prepared speech about how great the new membership rules were and how happy all the members were with the club and how it was being run. He was like a toy robot that you wind up and let roll. If you read it, I predict you’ll think of Saturday Night Live.

Well, he’s jettisoned another wife now, so he probably has to lap up the super-V to make it with all the new ladies lining up for him.

The REAL follow up questions were how many times did Senator Alphonse D’Amato tell Rudy “to give that man a break,” and how many times did Rudy oblige. D’Amato was responsible for appointing Rudy as US Attorney to the SDNY. Rudy turned the position into a launching pad for his future political career. Unfortunately, he destroyed said career himself, unassisted, and has become a joke in his old age.

Of course prosecutors encounter “give him a break” requests all the time but they come from people who don’t have real authority to fire the prosecutor. Throw in the reality that in Trump’s case Flynn has evidence pointing to Trump’s personal culpability in the same criminal enterprise and you have moved beyond Giuliani’s argument.

It would appear that the former reality TV show host’s attorney just confirmed Comey’s Congressional testimony and admitted on national tv that Trump committed obstruction of justice.

And the Republicans all shrug.

Leaving entirely aside any question of propriety on the notion that “giving a break” on investigating the National Security Advisor for undisclosed business with the Russian Federation is a totally normal thing that every administration does all the time.

That’s not even outrageous anymore! That’s just baked into the discourse.
