He is not be believed. I’m not sure why the Chronicle ran the story except that Yoo teaches in Berkeley and loves to renew his 15 minutes every so often

Not particular to John Yoo. I would like to believe anyone who is a longtime friend of Kavanaugh that he would not be a guard against holding Trump legally accountable. There is just too much quid to think that Kavanaugh would not offer a large serving of quo once elevated to the SCOTUS.

At the basic level, Yoo is not a reliable source.

I don’t think it matters whether it’s believable or not. Any challenge to the release of the report will invariably find its way to the Supreme Court.

And we all know how that’s going to end up.

The problem for Giuliani is that his loyalty may not be reciprocated. Since Trump became President, his closest advisers have been humiliated (Tillerson, Priebus), disgraced (Sean Spicer, Bannon), prosecuted (Flynn, Rick Gates), or all of the above (Manafort). At one point, I asked Giuliani whether he worried about how this chapter of his life would affect his legacy.

“I don’t care about my legacy,” he told me. “I’ll be dead.”

United States v. Nixon comes to mind. But even if you assume the Supreme Court of today is utterly corrupt in a way that can be unerringly predicted, which is a thing it seems reckless to assume, Mueller has obviously been taking care to make sure the investigations and prosecutions jump the fence and start multiplying out in the world the GOP can’t control. It’s impossible he hasn’t foreseen this move and done what he could to counter it. And last of all, let’s remember the overarching, never-to-be-forgotten principle here—Rudy pulls all of this out of his ass. Just do what you can for the Democrats, vote and take a friend.

There’s the tell. Every last one of these bloated, entitled men care about their legacy once they hit a certain age. It is all they care about. Rudy is a bad liar, but then we knew that already.

Hm … but what if Mueller isn’t just looking at obstruction of justice? and isn’t just planning on writing a report that could be withheld from the public?

What if Mueller is actually investigating a pretty large criminal conspiracy? With plenty of evidence and testimony from cooperating participants? And what if he plans on continuing to use indictments to “tell the story”? Like, indictments from several different jurisdictions, at the state and federal level?

Just curious.

This whole construct seems meaningless to me. “Objecting to” is not the same a “blocking”. Of course the administration would object. They would do that whether or not there’s some agreement in place. That’s the default scenario and it hasn’t changed.

Nooooooope. A ridiculous notion. Rudy can say whatever he wants because Mueller won’t respond but everyone knows the special counsel would never do this. Why would he exert all this effort just to have the product of his work filed away in some dark corner of Rudy’s office? The claim makes zero sense but that is to be expected from the Trump team.
