He was the best of men, he was the worst of men, depending on the flipping day.
It’s not just you. It’s mid-afternoon here in Germany and I also parsed the sentence the first time around as Ghouliani making Team Spankee nervous…
Very ambiguous headline.
If there’s some grand coherent PR scheme that’s been hatched between Trump and Giuliani, I haven’t been able to discern one.
Their inability to tie all of Trump’s Mueller troubles to some Machiavellian plot orchestrated by black and brown people has them stymied as to developing a coherent strategy.
We should give up trying. Immediately!
It’s not a grand scheme, but we should keep in mind that Rudy is willing to look like a hypocritical fool to thinking people in the course of serving the thinnest of straws for Trump’s supporters. It’s all they’ve needed in the past to continue their support, and Trump wants them in the streets protesting (maybe even using their “2nd Amendment remedies”) when the inevitable damning facts come out of the Mueller probe.
Perhaps It will come out that Mueller once wrote a testy letter of complaint owing to poor accommodations at a Trump hotel. That will surely be the “coup de gras” that will shut down the investigation.
Fat Chance…
And the CNN anchor smiled vapidly and let that go, I guess. But I’m guessing his or her hair still looked fabulous.
Sigh.
Given Trump’s eating habits, more likely that he himself is the foie gras of the corruption case.
Actually, no.
(It was Alisyn Camerota, by the way.)
Mueller cancels a membership at one of Trump’s golf clubs and Trump’s feeble mind turns it into a “nasty business relationship”. If there’s one overriding or predominate motivation for Trumps actions it’s revenge. Absolutely no perceived slight can go unanswered or unpunished.
That’s the foreseeable consequence of being burdened by intellect, education and a logical mind.
And who might that person be? He’s sending us the best he’s got.
Rudy, would the definition of Treason be COLLUSION ??
Got enough French left to see what you did there
Assuming that Rudy saying this or that or whatever really has no actual bearing on the progress and prosecution of cases against and around Trump, am I correct in taking this kind of stuff as nothing more than rabble-rousing for Trump supporters? Basically, keep them fired up so that they can be counted on in the midterms?
If I’m wrong, though, is there some way that this kind of talk actually helps Trump’s case in any way? Because, especially noting the way Rudy has done a 180 on what he says about Cohen’s character, it just seems like Rudy again being given the opportunity to say whatever caustic shit he needs to say to keep Trump happy and Trump’s supporters still believing that their man is being persecuted.
He’s on the verge of morphing from a human being to a fad trinket, like when fidget spinners were showing up on convenience store checkout counters this time last year. He’s just this pointless thing that’s around everywhere and nobody really knows why.
Hah, as with everything Trump, he has to hire people to nervously chew their nails for him.

Cohen can tell the world he is the King of England, but if he tells us what money was moved to what accounts for instance and it pans out, he can be the King of England and still be very useful.

“accusing Cohen of tampering with the tapes” Thanks Rudy for telling us that the recording are serious business and not a trifle. Great poker face there guy.
I tend to think that someone (America’s Former Mayor, perhaps?) on Team Dotard leaked the tape rather than Lanny Davis leaking. (AFAIK, Davis has not owned up to being the leaker so the source is an open question. OTOH, I’ve been on a minivacation since last Wednesday and so I could easily have missed something.)
Asking that question would be really interesting, because it would at least implicitly ask, “Since the recording is already out there, why don’t you release the full tape? Isn’t that especially important if Trump really was saying nice things about the woman immediately following the cut?”
