More like overwhelmingly and bigly than fairly and soundly.
I give Rudy credit for a decent and heartfelt tribute.
He should have left out the second sentence. It actually sounds pretty good when you do that. Donât these people show their postings to anybody else? My spouse and I edit each othersâ emails when it is something important and it almost always improves the message.
I may be, like @mattinpa a bit, well, oversensitive to things coming out of the Spankee and Ghouliani Show, but here were the two things that caused my reaction (take them as you will). Ghouliani had to put himself in there (so just a shade away from Spankee) by mentioning heâd run a presidential (primary) campaign, which, I felt, subtly tried to imply he was âin the same classâ as McCain. Which he is not, and may never have been, and, of course, especially now is lightyearâs away. Yes, he did mention that he had lost to McCain, but he just had to make it sound like it was a battle of equals. YMMV.
But you are right that this was surprisingly good compared to recent communications coming from Rudy.
here were the two things
Thanks for elaborating but ⌠did I miss the second thing? Inserting himself is a different thing from making 2008 sound like a battle of equals? Thatâs what you meant by âtwo,â right?
As for my reaction, it could be that my expectations are low, but youâre apparently not the only one who thinks Giuliani âshould have left out the second sentence,â and I can sort of understand this feeling although I donât share it. Thanks again.
