Germany – and the west generally – never did seek to redress the evil of Hitler’s willing executioners. Almost everyone got away. There was never any real interest in facing the awful fact that post-war Germany society was filled with perpetrators of the Holocaust. But but but Germany did so much to take responsibility! If you claim to believe that, you must claim to believe that the majority of Nazis and Nazi sympathizers were tried and convicted – which would make you a liar and/or a delusional idiot.
