US of A: legislating stoopid.
This is on the same level as: “We have always been at war with EastAsia.”
Isn’t it interesting that the two state legislatures pitching the biggest hissy fit over “negative” AP History exams are in two states that have some of the most negative history? Nope, they don’t want their kids to know the truth about the racism, violence and degradation those folks imposed on blacks and Native Americans in the past and how that they are likely to repeat it. I would guess that Worcester v Georgia, an 1832 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, is one of those negative things that the Georgia Legislature wants everyone to forget about. After all, it was the Georgians insistence that Andrew Jackson drive the Cherokee Nation out of its homeland that caused the Trail of Tears. No need for anyone to remember that, is there?
