Discussion: Georgia School Principal Fired For Calling Out ‘All The Black People’

Using her redneck logic, she reasons they weren’t born in Africa, so why should they be called African-American. I’m guessing the American born Georgia school principle has never missed a St. Patrick’s Day parade. As Bugs would say: Whatta maroon! Whatta ignoranimus!

My favorite part was when she called the entire audience “goobers.” Goobers, goobers, goobers. Who says that? Who says that as part of public speech to a group?

GOOD!

It is about time racism and bigotry stops!

My personal feeling is she is probably a pretty good educator, but her comments were extraordinarily racist and stupid. She should have been fired.

We can all feel good with our snark, but here a non-rich person is without work because of one moment of stupid.

I don’t know if any of you have looked up the school’s website, but TNT Academy is Gordeuk’s school. She founded it, and she runs it. I would be surprised if she is out of the out of the school entirely, and the language in the Board’s letter hints that I may be right:

“In light of recent events, the board of directors of TNT Academy has moved to dismiss Nancy Gordeuk as principal,” chair Heidi Anderson wrote in a letter to the Gwinnett County NAACP.

I was taken aback when I saw the video of this exchange. If it wasn’t a direct racist epithet the implication was definitely there. I mean how else would you interpret the statement, " Look who’s leaving — all the black people”, clearly there was something going on there, a partial Freudian slip if you will. But too make it even worse she says the devil made her do it! Flip Wilson is rolling over in his grave…

Bu,t but, but she didn’t call them the “N” word……

There was a big wooden cross right behind her when she was ranting. I am not sure the devil would be in that church if the bible is real.

Yes, because no teacher should be allowed to teach if they believe the devil speaks through their mouth

Well maybe your personal feelings about her ability is incorrect. She will find another job. People have to learn there are consequences for their actions. She’s a fucking principal for goodness sake

You know who says that? Racists.

Ignorant folks - that’s who

Don;t count on it. I said that 50 years ago

I agree! But that doesn’t seem to fly down south…

I think I read somewhere that she was actually the school’s founder.

So did I. It’s not gone by any means, but it really seems like there’s a little less of it now than there was then.
Slowly but surely.

Seems kind of harsh to fire someone for this. As many have pointed out, it is as likely to create a martyr as an object lesson. I would rather see amends and redemption. Of course, have some pointed out, maybe this is just removal from the front office to another position. That would work.

It might not be correct, but then again your assumption she will easily find another job might not be correct. I don’t have any problem snarking about the actions of the rich and famous. I find snarking about the problems of regular citizens to be too easy and inappropriate. Having watched the tape, she screwed up and was trying to overcome her own screw up. What she said was wrong, no doubt it was racist, but I am not inclined to judge a civilian on the basis of a single stupid comment. After all that comment is the only thing we will ever know about her. How would you like to be judged on the basis of one comment. You wouldn’t, if you didn’t care you wouldn’t hide behind the pseudonym “clammy.”

She should apply for a job at Faux…they spend like 60% of their time on that network “calling out all the black people.”

The roundtable discussion was also really great!
