What could possibly go wrong? Just a good guy with a gun.
The 53 year old boy must of been playing withhis toy.
Involuntary manslaughter makes sense because the gentleman involuntarily acquired the weapon and involuntarily decided to pull it out on a public street and involuntarily put his finger on the trigger, which was involuntarily pulled.
What do you think the charges would have been if the shooter had been a 20 year-old Black kid?
They would still be counting the bullet holes in his corpse.
Itâs very dangerous to live in the U.S., especially states such as Georgia and Florida where almost everyone carries a gun.
You never know when a stray bullet is going to find its in in your path and through you.
AhâŚanother âresponsibleâ gun owner.
Not exactly sure why this guy shouldnât hang. He deprived another human being of their life through a gross act of negligence which was totally avoidable. Were it death by car at least a person could say they lost control of something that was nearly indispensably needed to live in our modern society. He didnât HAVE to be carrying that gun in public. Yes it was his right, but only if he did it responsibly and safely. He did neither. And now someone is dead. Something tells me an involuntary manslaughter conviction may yield no more than probation and a fine by the time the charge is adjudicated. Yet someone is dead. Hang the bastard.
Wait a second. Bullets can cross STREETS? WHY DIDNâT ANYONE TELL ME THIS?!?!!?
Next thing you know, youâll tell me that bullet fired carelessly, or accidentally, can pass through a nonpartisan wall and kill someone on the other side!
Iâm sorry to hear that a woman lost her life, but this story fails to answer the really important question. Was the gun okay?
For the love of God, please tell me that the gun survived this incident. Was it damaged in any way? Did it sustain any injuries when the shooter dropped it on the ground? Iâm sure itâs been confiscated by the authorities as part of the investigation, but please tell me theyâre taking good care of it. I encourage those authorities to do whatever they can to make sure this gun can be back on the street soon to kill again â just like Jefferson, Madison and Hamilton intended.
I encourage the entire TPM community to keep the gun in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Now letâs see, Georgia . . . thatâs that guns everywhere state?
Good thing CongressWhores at all levels are immune from their legislative votes of wanton destruction.
Lemme guess. The Old Heidelberg Restaurant and Bar. German Food. Malted beverages. White âpatriotâ exercising his 2nd Amendment rights, and also Georgiaâs âCarry Everywhereâ lawsâŚ
EDIT:
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
The gun accidentally discharged, and the bullet traveled across Helenâs tourist-laden Main Street and struck the woman in the side.
In a brief telephone interview, Lampienâs wife, Valerie, said her husband was recovering. She was not with him Saturday night in Helen. âI donât know what happened myself,â she said. âItâs an unfortunate situation.â
To her statement that her husband was recovering: Is the Gun OK after this âunfortunate situationâ? That is all we really want to knowâŚ
âThe shooting occurred less than two months after a new law took effect in Georgia that greatly extended gun ownersâ rights to carry weapons in public places. Bars are among the locations covered by House Bill 60.â
In an online forum sponsored by GeorgiaPacking.org, a gun-rights advocacy group, one commenter said Sunday: âOf course, HB 60 will be blamed.â
It wasnât the guns fault!! Thanks Obama!
âThe gun accidentally dischargedâ? OK, so in this case, it really was the gunâs fault.
Nuh uh! It was an âaccidentâ!
geez. and i thought guns saved lives.
NRA Spokesman: I think what we should all take away from this is that the man carrying the gun is perfectly safe and was completely unarmed.
Helen is a major tourist center in the north Georgia mountains. Someone decided to make it look âAlpineâ 40 years ago and it just took off. I would ask how this would impact visitor counts and follow up over the next weeks. See if Helen merchants respond in some way, asking that people keep their guns at home. (I see lots of signs around Atlanta saying the same since the âguns anywhereâ law went into effect.)
Iâd forgotten about Helen - itâs a really nice place to visit. Too bad you might die while youâre there.
Just another small price to pay to protect our precious 2A rights.
