There are 21 Fortune 500 companies based in Georgia, including Home Depot, Coca-Cola, and Delta Airlines. Let those companies know you will not give them your money if they don’t exert pressure to stop this nonsense.
Yours is a reasonable and probably true statement, but it means nothing to people on a Mission From God.
I do know that. Child bearing years are behind me, mercifully.
Why do y’all hate America so much, Georgia legislators?
I agree, you are absolutely correct. But these Rethuglican legislators have come to rely on and pay ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) to write these regressive pieces of “model legislation” so they can keep getting elected by their “deplorable” supporters. Those supporters are too dumb, it would seem, to realize that their taxes are being scammed.
Pure speculation on my part, but I’m assuming that the idea is to get as many on the books as possible to speed up getting something before the Supreme Court so they can start hammering the stake into the heart of Roe v Wade.
I get the part about deluging the courts with the same piece of legislation so to get up to SCOTUS, but it they’re not all passed at the same time. Iowa went first this time around (I believe) , the Kentucky and now GA. There are several states where this still stuck the in the state legislature. So once one gets through but your state’s was struck down then doesn’t it have to be reintroduced?
This gets my penny pinching side all riled up. If these were my sincerely held religious beliefs then the miser in me would be say “Let’s hold back, and not spend our money for this. Let some other state spend their money fighting this and we’ll reap the benefit without the cost.” But hey don’t get me wrong on views on abortion it’s just the time and money that’s wasted that pisses me off.
I hope some enterprising econ student makes a study of how much this all costs.
Abortion: one-trick right-wing pony does its one trick.
Wingers don’t know they’re basic, but of course they pretend they’re righteous “fighting for fetuses”. They don’t fight equally hard for the right of all actually-born humans to have decent healthcare.
