Discussion: Gaetz Tries To Get Father Of Parkland Victim Removed From Background Check Hearing

Like most bullies, Gaetz is a coward. A particularly loathsome coward.

Does anyone else get the impression that Matt Gaetz is a younger Brett Kavanaugh?

Oh dear. After all the nonsense the gop has put to Dems, seems weird that gop are complaining now. Really weird…

If the father of a child who was murdered by gunfire in a mass shooting boos your pro gun stance at a background check hearing you should shut up and take it. To act like the aggrieved party is pathetic and speaks of a total lack of empathy. Disgusting!

The NRA is having trouble raising money lately. Their Russian money has been cut off. Gaetz might not get the big contribution from them he is counting on next election.

If the wall would be safer for the U.S. than background checks for guns why aren’t abundance of guns keeping people safe from the ravenous hordes of “criminals” crossing the border?

He is among the worst of them. Void of empathy or principle, and so devoted one wonders about the source of his campaign contributions. Counter intelligence investigation , anyone?

Gaetz is an awful, awful person.

And stupid, too.

If his IQ were dynamite, he couldn’t use it to blow his nose.

Gaetz is counting on riding Steve King’s and Donald Trump’s coattails to higher office. He’s banking on the same base electing him to it and doubling down on the ignorance and hate.

I don’t question that Gaetz would have given Kavanaugh a run for his money in the sexual assault area but he’s always set off my gaydar. His friendship with Roger Stone speaks for itself. Gaetz is essentially Roy Cohn 2.0.

Just like his hero Trump.

How stupid are these guys? (Yes, this is a rhetorical question; next to Gaetz, Unser Drumpenfuhrer actually is a genius.) Yeah, Gaetz’ constituency is the roughly 25-30% (OK, probably more in this boob’s district) of the electorate who live to own the libs and get a thrill up the leg just hitting Fox News on their remote. To them, trying to toss the father of a murdered high school student (or as they probably call him, a crisis actor) out of a hearing on gun safety is the stuff of masturbatory fantasies. But to most people, Gaetz not only comes across as a loon, but as a heartless and cruel asshole. (This impression is aided by the fact that Gaetz actually is a heartless and cruel asshole.) While Gaetz may be relatively safe in a deep wingnut district, in the long run, he is doing his party no favors (thank goodness).

Finally, when are these morons finally going to get it through their thick skulls that they lost the election, they are in the minority, their like minded buddies are no longer holding the gavel and this highhanded horseshit ain’t going to fly anymore?

I wonder if he got the “sit down and shut up” message.

The chair could also have used his discretion to ask the member to speak on topic.

Such clueless irony that the interruption of his laments about the “incalculable” pain and the suffering of murder victims’ family members was being *used as his excuse for throwing out, guess who - an upset family member of a murder victim.

Of course some murder victims are more equal than others. The protester’s son was killed by a white boy with access to automatic weapons in a mass murder at a high school, not by one of those evil Mexican immigrants. So, how dare he impinge on this Congress member’s time, when he is literally making that point.

And with rhetoric like this his constituents shouldn’t allow him back in their district.
