And so many of Gabby’s former colleagues in the House, who clapped upon her return to the chamber after being shot in the head, STILL haven’t proposed on a single piece of legislation to curb gun violence!
But they clapped. And I’m sure they sent her prayers after the mass shooting that killed her staff, other community members, and nearly killed her.
From the thread about the horrible news:

The correct journalistic term is “assassination.” Jo Cox, a Member of Parliament, was assassinated this morning. TPM please use the correct terminology when an elected official is murdered for purely political reasons.
Good, but why the need to put the word in the headline in single quotes?
It is a deep irony that a right wing assassin might have just killed brexit.
About as useless and meaningless as all those “Stand with the Troops” ribbon stickers so many people slapped on their vehicles back in the '00s. Maddening. The ribbon sticker manufacturers (Chinese, no doubt) made money. Gun manufacturers made money. The NRA made money. So … all is well for those who “clapped” and sent their “prayers.”
Gabby was my rep. in Congress.
When will the time be right to change our gun laws.?
Any bets your Senator will blame it personally on President Obama?
Fucker already has.
And then tried to walk that back. I’d comment on that thread if it weren’t closed down from flags.
It’s a direct quotation.
Not ironic if that was the intent.
You’re right! That was from Gabby. Sorry.
One member of her staff. not all of her staff.
It opened back up a few minutes ago, @darrtown.
And the lapel flag pins worn by so many who had no problem sending our forces into the mistake that was Iraq.
The shooter appears to have been an ultra-right-wing nationalist. His intent was, almost certainly, to promote brexit.
It was a deadly message to send to the opponents. Was she one?
Another edit: Or did it have more to do with her work with immigrants?
Consider the timing. And consider that anti-immigrant sentiment is absolutely central to the pro-brexit campaign.
That “coarseness” showed itself in full force today with the words that came out of her very senior senator’s mouth – a very senior senator who has worked for many years to make us less safe from wars abroad and from gun violence at home. I hope Gabby is an effective campaigner this year for her friend Ann Kirkpatrick.
Palin: It wasnt me this time. You can see it for yourself:
Ibelieve she opposed Brexit and supported Britain remaining in the EU.
