FSU President John Thrasher announced terms Monday. Thrasher says FSU will pay Erica Kinsman $250,000 and her attorneys $700,000.
There’s something wrong about this. I have nothing against lawyers getting what they deserve, but almost 75% of the settlement?

Oddly enough, that was my takeaway from this story too. Her lawyers are getting almost 3 times as much as the actual victim of the crime? That’s extremely irksome.

That’s a lot of green to paper over “the holes in her story”, Mr. Prosecutor-Man. I bet there’s enough left over to hide some errors in “due process” too!
That reminds me of the trouble that lawyer Chesley and his buddies encountered in the fhen-fhen case.
Of course now is the time to settle, with a nondisclosure, as they can’t make any more money off the perp.
There’s a reason why almost all the commercials on off network TV is by personal injury lawyers or against pharmaceutical companies or the asbestos settlement.
