I had to melt snow for water once after a blizzard because when we lost power the well pump wouldn’t work. You’d be surprised how many little bits of stick and stuff you find in blizzard snow. It’s not as pure as they tell you.

I think I read the tree’s family has asked that its life and death not be made a political football or used as any kind of symbolism. “It was just a tree,” a spokesperson for the family said.
