Discussion: Franklin Graham Says Pope Should 'Build A Bridge To Donald Trump'

I think you’re absolutely right. Especially among the conservative upper class on the Coasts who do NOT take well to this maligning of the Pope.

I have to laugh when I think of how many miles of walls would be needed to protect the entire coastline of the United States from Mexico to the Canadian border on the Gulf of Mexico and both oceans. You also have to consider the length of the Canadian - U.S. border as more thousands of miles of entry points.

Back in the day 15 minutes of Earnest Angley beat about 90% of whatever is on Netflix today. Kinda like doing mescaline without having to track down that freak Gimpy Bob to find it.

Oy vey iz mir!

Billy Graham’s idiot bastard son really ought to learn to keep his mouth shut. After all, it’s better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak idiocies and confirm the thought.

Oy, oy, oy. This stuff makes my hair hurt.

I miss Gene Scott: Gene Scott - Wikipedia. That was always an entertaining freak show.

And I fondly recall the early days of Jim and Tammy Faye, before they went national. We used to get the PTL Club on some low-powered UHF station at 2:00 in the morning. It was hilariously amateurish.

Dang, I din’t think one could get more arrogant than Rump chastising the Pope, until I read this other purported Christian siding with Rump. I’m a little surprised Rump hasn’t tweeted a selfie from his Manhattan apartment, telling the Pope his paintings are old.

I’m not an engineer, but I’m pretty sure you have to have 2 stable ends to build a bridge.

New one on me. For entertainment purposes I’ve always been a big Robert Tilton fan, although the Bakkers in their heyday were pretty amusing. But I meant has there been one of these people a non-fundie could have some respect for as a human being. That’s a remote possibility and I should have been clearer, I suppose.

I know I’m showing my age, but that faith-healer, Katherine Kuhlman, was an amusing piece of work.

You’d have to clean the Augean stable that is Donald Trump before you’d dare set a bridge abutment.

Truthfully, it depends on the decade.

In DC, there was a bishop known as McCullough who knew that he had followers willing to defend him against any criticism.

Billy Sunday also comes to mind, but the point is that while these folks aren’t infallible, it was often smart not to say that around a member of their congregations.

“in order to protect America from enemies who want to use the U.S./Mexican border as a way to enter our country and do us harm.”

Enemies both foreign and imaginary. Domestic? There is no such thing. Socialist propaganda!

The reverend wrote that numerous presidential candidates support
building a wall “Are they not Christian either?”

No, and neither are you.

I am not a christian, but I always assumed being one meant more than simply loudly declaring you are a christian.

I have to laugh—I should have been clearer, I meant has there even been one of these evangelical types you could respect as a person with some wisdom and guidance about life to offer. There are certainly many Christians I respect. But out of these characters, I can’t think of one. Maybe there’s something about going on TV to shout about the devil and beg for money that militates against being what I’m talking about here. : )

Of course, we don’t NEED a wall and immigration is mostly under control on the BORDER! but lying is a ‘Christian’ value, right Graham and Falwell? Spare us the sanctimonious BS you spout.

Franklin Graham and Falwell Jr. telling the Pope how to behave is rich, rich, rich. Also pathetic.
