If you’re against punishing individual soldiers, how about punishing the real “war criminals” like Cheney instead?

I welcome this.

Trump choosing to listen to rookies on TV who arm-chair quarterback everything with little to no repercussions is exactly what I want him to do over the next 16 months. This almost guarantees unforced errors and pandemonium (more so) in DJT inner circle while the Child Id stomps his feet wondering why he keeps making gaffes biggly.

These are not “boys who did their job”. These are murders who were found guilty by military tribunal and sentenced accordingly. Pardoning them is lunacy. Meaning it’s likely Trump will do it.

Can we throw in Henry the K too?

Breaking the law does not equate to doing your job.

And I will not thank you for your service in the military, Mr. Hegseth. Fuck you.

Clearly we’ve been doing it wrong all this time. We should be listening to this He-man Hulk hybrid and just smash the enemy because we “know” they are guilty. That’s the surest way to win over the hearts and minds of the survivors of our fury. Just like a battered spouse.

The Republicans have been pushing the idea that we need to “fight dirty” against terrorism (and whatever else), as if obeying the Geneva Convention or treating prisoners (or brown civilians) properly somehow weakens us. They have watched too many movies where the “terrorist” gives up their plan under a bit of torture, and somehow equate that with “what needs to be done to win the war on terror”. It’s nonsense, study after study has shown that torture does not work, and the experience of our own soldiers who were captured shows the same thing…you tell the person torturing you anything to get them to stop, whether it is true or not.

I never thought I’d live to see the day that we’d encourage the kinds of behavior we executed people for after WW2. It’s 15 years now that Republicans have been pushing this, and to its credit the military has pushed back because they know it’s wrong, as well as dangerous for our troops. I fear Trump will try to start a war to help his chances in 2020, and push the military to “get tough”…what happens when they refuse to break the rules is really going to test our system.

How about we waterboard Pete Hegseth?

JFC.

And more descriptively for the filter, JFC.

Hello. My name is Donald J. Trump. The Uniform Code of Military Justice has been in effect since Congress made it law in 1951. And even though there are clearly structured and well defined processes to follow, I am deciding in advance how to meddle in the affairs of the United States military (the one that I avoided serving in). I have determined that people that MAY be guilty of war crimes… are not “being treated fairly” (you may recall that I have used this phrase to describe confessed criminals Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Joe Arpaio, the ‘fire-starter’ Hammonds, Dinesh D’Souza, ‘submarine picture taker’ Kristian Saucier, Scooter Libby, “court martialed murderer” Michael Behenna, “a current friend and supporter mine, the convicted white collar criminal that was DEPORTED”, Conrad (the fraud) Black, Pat Nolan ‘GOP Rep that pleaded guilty to soliciting illegal campaign contributions’, and… the unfortunate Sholom Rubashkin who was convicted of 86 counts of financial fraud, bank fraud, mail & wire fraud and money laundering {{ can’t a guy get a break}}). In the Uniform Code of Military Justice there are several areas where the President is permitted to “act”. Of course, Congress probably was thinking of my many predecessor Presidents, who having had military experience (26 Presidents served - if you want to include George W. Bush), they would have a modicum of knowledge or understanding of the machinations of how the process works. But ‘I alone’ know things and am a ‘very stable genius’… so I will intervene and NOT let the process take its course. I will negate the purpose and function of the UCMJ and make the members of the military (the one that I avoided serving in) sit ineffectively by. I will decide ahead of time what the fate of these people will be."

And we thought Trump would not be a good President… HAH!

In your view, FNC is now somehow legitimized?
I’d guess not.
Somebody you know changed their mind about FNC because Bernie or Mayor Pete did town halls on FNC?
I’d guess not.

What the heck are you talking about?
