I’d say the thing that stings so deeply and upsets sweet Howard so much is that the things people say about Melania happen to be true. She is a gold digger and a nude model and she makes creepy wardrobe choices a lot of the time – and she’s got really bad taste in Christmas decorations. She also is an illegal who somehow got legal, and brought her parents over. Oh, and she doesn’t seem to have much of a brain – or human compassion. ETA: and she’s had way too much cosmetic surgery.
As the old saying goes, the truth really hurts.

This is reminiscent of stolen valor. The entire family does that. They attempt to strip others of their true victimization and then selfishly wrap it around themselves in the same way people take on the mantle of military service, diminishing the real valor of a real soldiers.

I think it depends on the circumstances. If you’re talking about an older couple that have both children and resources from previous marriages and situations, then I would agree with you.
If it’s a situation where an older man with considerable wealth is marrying a younger woman with no assets, then it’s another story.
On the other hand, adultery is grounds for divorce…but what the pre-nup is for is determining the assets each would get in the case of divorce. You could be right. I can’t say that’s my area of expertise.
