Decent men grew up in a different world from the women they know. We just have no idea what their lives have been like. Mrs. Austin Dave points out that âthe women we are hearing from and about these days have reluctantly come forward and now have SOME level of power. Imagine all the waitresses and hotel maids and cashiers, and what their lives are like. And thatâs in the US.â @tena
Chris Wallace on Fox says 2 of his daughters, in the wake of Kav allegations, have told him about things in high school they hadn't told him before. "There are teenage girls who don't tell stories to a lot of people, and then it comes up. I don't think we can disregard that"

Unmitigated SUCCESS! All Fordâs IS FAKE news!
This could be defined a cultural moment.
I have been in and out, but at this point it looks like a train wreck for the old guard.
I agree with Wallace, who is smarter than the 11 old men repubs on the committee. Why they thought that a prosecutor, who is used to defending victims would be their attack dog in 5 minute chunks of time was going to work, with Chuck Assley jumping in to make drive by attacks on DiFi and the democrats is beyond me.
The republicans are so out of their depths.
The tragedy of forcing Dr. Ford to endure this put aside, I hope the GOP will like being in the minority. What a disgrace they are.
This was always a disaster for the Republicans. They just werenât smart enough to realize it.
I find Mitchellâs questions rather limp. Just watched the questions on air travel. I can see where they are trying to go, but it was out of place
At this point, she is a sympathetic figure and adorable. If they drop the hammer on her, they will be stomping Bambi.
Trying to imagine this without watching. And I got an image of the past, cruel but decrepit, trying to pin down and wound the future and failing, because the future is smarter, better, braver, fairer, more just, and more hopeful. When that shows through clearlyâlike, for instance, every time Barack Obama speaksâitâs a disaster for the Republicans.
The last words in the clip, to the effect that itâs 1/3 over and they havenât gotten anything yet, are disturbing. Wallace is a grudgingly half-honest broker at best, who sounds more upset to see his buddies failing to break her than anything else.
Donald Trump, later today: âParagon of moral virtue Brett Kavanaugh has withdrawn his nomination to the Supreme Court in order to spend more time with his fentanyl.â
Well stated! And a vision worth striving for.
Yeah, someone on The Donald Trump Network said, âMitchell hasnât landed one punch!â What the fuck do they this is, âThe Thrilla In Manilaâ? Wait, you donât have to answer that.
Iâm not sure about that, reading what he said about his daughters recounting incidents taking place in their lives. Maybe the lightbulb finally went off, and he thinks about how he would feel if it happened to one of them.
Vote and tell your friends and acquaintances to vote- for the Democrats of course - send the Republicans a message and take back the country from the trumpers, the conservatives, the Koch-republicans. Itâll take a while but if the Democrats can get control of Congress this year and the White House in 2020 and keep it 2 terms, a lot of the damage can be fixed. We have to do this.
Grass-manâs up there with his gavel ⌠acting like a judge ----
âdisaster for the Republicansâ because theyâre treating the hearing like a court proceeding.
A rigged court proceeding, where they sandbagged the other side by withholding thousands of documents, refused to make referrals to professional investigators, and were assured that the same arrogant bullying they did with Anita Hill and Merrick Garlandâs nomination was gonna work here.
Thatâs one interpretation perhaps based on the reality that Fox News men and women are shills for the admin. Wallace has risen above that in the past and heâs doing it again.
Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away I was a management consultant. I traveled a lot. One of my iron-clad rules was never wear a navy blue suit on a commercial flight. There would always be at least one man in the boarding area ready to hit up on a woman in a navy blue suit, thinking she must be a flight attendant and, ergo, easy pickings. They could be rather forward.
If I wore other clothes, I participated in the general idle chit-chat of the time and place but was otherwise nearly always left alone.
This wasnât just my practice. Virtually all of the women under age 35 at my firm followed this rule.
I hadnât thought about that in decades until this hearing started. Welcome back to 1982, ladies.
We knew how they felt when one of the leading GOOPS referred to âthe Anita Hill thing.â Yesterdayâs belittled woman, todayâs belittled woman. Whatâs the diff.
