Discussion: Fox Hosts Battle Over Whether Domestic Right-Wing Terror Threat Exists (VIDEO)

Discussion for article #233596

Silly libtards. Conservative man’s rage is an entirely natural phenomenon, like lightning and wet dreams.

It doesn’t surprise me that these people don’t know about right-wing violence because they never talk about it on Fox News, at least nowhere near the extent it happens other places. An elderly white supremacist shot a security guard at the Holocaust Museum in DC, then a gun nut shot and killed 3 cops in Pennsylvania - ok that was a few years ago right? Last year the 2 cops got murdered in Vegas (this would’ve been while Fox News was overtly sanctioning militia violence against the federal government, not saying the two were linked - but still). Last fall, two more cops were killed in Pennsylvania, but Fox News was busy trying to tell us we were directly responsible for the two NYPD officers being murdered because we protested police violence. These are just off the top of my head without googling.

But a Muslim cut off a coworker’s head in Oklahoma so none of this is matters I guess.

Scott Roeder not only killed George Tiller, but he also warned us that other such attacks were coming. Doing so was intended to scare abortion providers. If that isn’t the very definition of terrorism, I don’t know what possibly could be.

Given that his intention was to terrorize and that he warned us that other attacks were coming, why didn’t the Bush administration waterboard him to find out what else he knows?

Couldn’t ISIS be called “lunatics who murdered someone”?

Because he was white and not from Iraq or Afganistan?

It’s not terrorism when you agree with it. “Pro-lifers” AGREE with killing abortion doctors, clinic staff, etc. And when they’re not busy cleaning their guns and mapping out their targets, they simply stand outside and harass women going into the clinics for everything from a pap smear to an abortion.

But it’s not terrorism. It’s just terrifying.

Last year some elderly white supremacist neo nazi shot people going to the Jewish Community Center in Kansas City. There are thousands of acts of domestic terror Fox News wants us to ignore.

the Two Black Panthers? Wall-to-wall coverage for WEEKS. Violent, right-wing, white extremists? Meh.

You know…the reason that they’re terrified of calling the murder of Dr. Tiller a terrorist attack is that it would then make them and Bill O’Reilly accessories to a terrorist act. After all, O’Reilly and FOX are partially responsible for the man’s murder.

Fox can’t dis domestic terrorists. They don’t want to lose their viewers.

A bombing at a NAACP building? Radio silence.

Jesus. C’mon, Juan, how hard a question is that?

"Las Vegas Metro Police announced late Thursday that they had arrested roommates David Allen Brutsche and Devon Campbell Newman,…who spent hundreds of hours devising a plan to abduct, torture and execute police officers in order to bring attention to their anti-government “Sovereign Citizens” movement.

Not too hard, was it, Juan? Or:

“Jerad and Amanda Miller, the Vegas-based Cliven Bundy backers who, after killing a couple of cops, covered their bodies in a Gadsden “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, and put a swastika-stamped manifesto on top of the bodies.”

Or…

“Paul Schlesselman and Daniel Cowart to assassinate Barack Obama, who was then the 2008 Democratic Party presidential nominee. The two men, both of whom held strong white supremacist beliefs, spoke of killing Obama during a planned murder spree of 88 African Americans in Tennessee, many of whom were young students at an unidentified, predominantly black school.”

Or…

“Shawn Robert Adolf, Tharin Robert Gartrell and Nathan Dwaine Johnson to assassinate Barack Obama, then the 2008 Democratic Party presidential nominee. The trio allegedly planned to shoot Senator Obama with a high-powered rifle during the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.”

Or…

"Leaving behind a rant against the government, big business and particularly the tax system, a computer engineer smashed a small aircraft into an (Austin, TX) office building where nearly 200 employees of the Internal Revenue Service were starting their workday Thursday morning, the authorities said. The pilot, identified as Andrew Joseph Stack III, 53, of north Austin, apparently died in the crash, and one other person was unaccounted for… two bodies were pulled from the site… the crash and subsequent fire, which initially inspired fears of a terrorist attack and drew nationwide attention.

Or…

"Former West Memphis, Ark., Police Chief Bob Paudert, whose police officer son was murdered by a father-and-son team of anti-government extremists in 2010, has denounced the government for failing to brief police on such things as the “sovereign citizens” movement.

Or:

“A group calling themselves the Christian American Patriots Militia is pretty sure they have the “authority” to assassinate President Obama.”

Or:

“Anyone who tries to fire the Police Chief is be forced to live in fear of retaliation from a militia of armed terrorists. Pennsylvania police chief Mark Kessler is the head of a political organization which refers to itself as “The Constitution Security Force.“ Kessler was recently given a thirty day suspension, for using police property as props in a video where he threatens and insults “libtards,” otherwise known as people who hold political views which differ from his own.”

Or…

“Alaska militia leader Schaeffer Cox and his deputy Lonnie Vernon were each found guilty late Monday of the most serious charge against them, conspiracy to murder federal employees.”

Or…

Frederick Thomas, a 73-year-old from Cleveland, Ga., and 68-year-old Dan Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., were each sentenced to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Both were members of fringe militia organization they referred to as a “covert group.” Federal authorities arrested them in November 2011 for allegedly plotting to attack U.S. citizens and federal employees using the biological toxin ricin. Their alleged targets included Attorney General Eric Holder and former Georgia Rep. Cynthia McKinney.

Or…

“George Sodini, who killed three women and then himself at a Pittsburgh area fitness center (His) diary focuses on his severe problems with women …comments about the “liberal media,” the “Obama economy” – and it opens with remarks about last fall’s election, the election of “The Black Man” and jokes about black men bedding white women.”

Or how about the “Oath Keepers”, the “constitutionalist” “patriot” group that urges law enforcement officers to defy the federal government, and that flocked to Cliven Bundy’s defense?

C’mon, Juan. This is supposed to be your “beat”.

Terrorism: The crime of killing noncombatant civilians to achieve a political effect.
How hard is that to understand?

In the movie 1776, Ben Franklin says

“A rebellion is always legal in the first person, such as ‘our rebellion.’ It is only in the third person - ‘their rebellion’ - that it becomes illegal.”

Today, “our” domestic terrorists are lone wolves, or as Bolling says, “A lunatic who murdered someone.” It’s only in the third person - “their acts” - that it becomes terrorism.

Apparently it’s very difficult.

“An abortion clinic shooting, you’re calling that a terrorist attack?” Bolling asked.

“What would you call it?” Williams countered.

“Something Fox and nothing to do with. NOTHING!”

'“Oh you sound like Obama.”

Just the sort of nuanced and thoughtful retort you would expect from a Fox News host.
