Discussion: Fox Host: Report On 'Likely' Clinton Foundation Indictment ‘Was A Mistake’ (VIDEO)

“no matter how well-sourced,” “no matter how strong investigators feel their evidence is.” Doesn’t sound like he’s walking it back very much. He just apologizes for what can be proved false, then throws out some suggestions and innuendo to keep the rabid masses frothing.

Yeah, a full apology would have included mention that their sources are rogue FBI agents who are taking a Breitbart as fact, i.e., zero credibility and totally biased considering who’s running and bankrolling the Trump campaign.

If FBI agents are feeding Giuliani information they’re breaking the law.
If FBI agents are not feeding Giuliani information then he’s lying.

I hope someone publicly pins him down before the election.

Watching Conway say that last night affected me more than anything she has said this whole campaign. Evil was just pouring out of every whatever in her body.

"no matter how well-sourced,”
But, that was the ENTIRE PROBLEM. It WAS NOT “Well-Sourced” it was NO SOURCED.
It was nothing more than a “I heard from a guy who knows a guy who overheard a guy in a bar one night…” kind of bullshit, and YOU RAN WITH IT and then editorialized at the end of it you twit!
I guess what they say is true. To work at FOX News you really do need to “check your soul at the door”.

Faux “news” has been a disgrace to the country since its inception. It has been the fuel for the slime, the hate and ignorance that most of their viewers, like pigs, wallowing in day in and out. Bret has failed as a journalist and he may have hurt the country greatly in the process.

Team Trump’s response:
"Hey, who gives a crap if it’s true or if it’s the usual speculative B.S. propagated by FOX News and the Trump campaign.
If it helps our candidate in the polls, it’s all good."

If there aren’t some serious Hatch Act investigations, we might as well be back in the days of Hoover and Nixon.

Baier having a veneer of remorse and accountability is being overly gracious. In his “apology” speech, he continuously remarks about the “year-long” investigation by the FBI of the Clinton Foundation, the six sources of the he used (including the wino down the street?), that the FBI is “continuing to build their case”, and "we stand by the sourcing… ongoing, active… investigation… " Updates “hopefully today”.

This is the worse non-apology I have heard in a while. It is like a dog refusing to give up a bone.

There was a time, and it is especially poignant on the 100th birthday of one our great journalists, Walter Cronkite, when a real journalist would not run with story without two independent sources, and on a big story, without three or more.

Look back at the Washington Post and Watergate. That story had to be sourced from multiple directions before Post editor Ben Bradlee would run with the story. When it was fully sourced, it ran and it brought down Nixon and his cronies.

Today, FOX and others rely on any rumor, not true sources, and begin the day with a story without any basis. By mid-day, they are sourcing themselves and then ‘multiple sources’ become their own internal idiots from Fox and Friends. By Prime Time, the whole story is wrapped up in a bow when in fact, 24-hours earlier it was an Alt-Right piece from Breitbart or Alex Jones.

FOX is not the only one who has let their standards slip, but it least others have standards. FOX continues to prove it is nothing more than a pack of well paid stooges for the right wing. Unfortunately, Ailes convinced many middle-aged and older Americans who have nothing to do during the day but watch FOX that whatever is on the air is the truth. And, they never did it for journalistic merit - they did it for the advertising dollars. Truth be damned, just build an audience.

We have all been duped into believing this is journalism. It is not. It is propaganda in the worst form and we are suffering the consequences of letting our guard down.

The Fourth Estate has a vital role in serving our Democracy. The Fifth Estate is threatening the Republic.

It is time to restore real truth to real journalism. Accept nothing less.

Well-sourced? Does anyone believe Fox does research? They just throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks.

They are still trying to tip the election, along with Rudy G and his CABAL of Rogue FBI Agents who think this is a Banana Republic

It’s the age-old question - Who polices the police?

When the police are the criminals, society is in trouble.
