Discussion for article #243524
Trump doesn’t have friends, he has employees and/or asskissers.
Duh.
“I have friends who are XXXXX”, said every racist ever.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that such a large segment of the Republican party is in favor of something un-Constitutional like this, but I am disappointed.
I’m not antisocial, some of my best friends are friends.
Shorter Trump: We know we have a problem but I can make it HUGE! We are now hated by a tiny extremist portion hated by almost all other Muslims but I can make sure that they all hate us. Why are you looking at me funny?
“The real estate mogul would not elaborate,” That’s the name of his game,no facts just fiction.
Trump just bloviates. He’s like a guy at a bar holding forth, entertaining people with lightweight blather. And if someone tries to take him seriously and calls on him to expand on his assertions, he simply blathers some more.
Otherwise known as a blithering idiot
I’m betting he doesn’t have many Muslim friends anymore. Even people employed by him are probably getting frightened.
This is just so much fun to watch the GOP implode in upon itself. How do you fight against your own racist, selfish, fear stoked base that you cultivated for so many years?
I guess instead of an “I told you so” we can just say … you built that.
He’s a bigoted, cowardly, irresponsible, more egotistic, less erudite, way less principled Carl Weathers from Fargo.
Trump: I have friends who are Rapists, Terrorists, The Blacks and more. I am the most open minded American ever.
Last night I tuned into Chris Matthews and got a lot of Trump. he was spouting at a rally in SC on the deck of a mothballed AC carrier. What was striking was the response of the crowd to his frothings. It was the sound of a mob calling for blood.
It is definitely time to repeal Godwin’s Law. If this is not nascent fascism, what is?
Well, I’ll give Trump one thing. He’s proven conclusively you don’t have to be poor to be loudmouthed, ignorant, bigoted white trash!

If it did not hurt so much this would be funny. It is really playing into the hands of those that spread the hate anyway. And makes it seem like the US is at war with Islam. Not at the moment, but the guy is the leader, or leading, contender for one of the major parties. That should make everyone in the US ashamed and the rest of the world afraid.
Note that he doesn’t address the reasons some of his opponents have denounced him. His response is they are low in the polls so their thoughts don’t count. Pretty much everybody is low in the polls, so I guess that means only his thoughts count and there are no objective guiding principles.
No. The name of his game is to make outlandish statements, and then show “strength” by standing by them. Its the center core of his entire campaign.
Whether or not Trump believes what he says, or would try to actually implement any of it, is entirely besides the point to his fans. He is “brave” for saying stupid stuff and “strong” for not backing down. And those that don’t back down to him…he beats in the polls, confirming how “strong” he is.
The point is, there is no “bottom of the barrel” to what Trump will say. He is caught up in an “outlandish inflation” game…he has to constantly up the ante, but as long as he is “brave” and keeps upping the ante, and is "strong’ and refuses to back down…his supporters love him.
The problem is that by now, Trump is only preaching hatred to the choir, he is not winning over any new supporters, nor will he. He is making his “brand” so toxic that he has next to zero chance of every expanding his base.
Until there is another terrorist attack. What he is doing is creating an environment where a few suicide bombers can have an impact on America all out of proportion to their size. He is actually laying the ground work for ISIL. The man is vile.
Well, he does claim to be good friends with Mike Tyson, a convicted rapist. Who he actually proposed a deal to have him walk on that conviction so Tyson could fight Holyfield in one of his venues and make him millions. In return, he proposed Tyson use the fight money to pay her off.
