I occasionally hear conservative friends say things like this. Fox does not have a conservative bias. I want to believe they’re being dishonest, because the only other choice is that they’re fools. I like to believe people are smart - to give your average Joe the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes-- Wow.

Yep, BillO is at least half right. Fox is effectively the propaganda arm of the GOP and is “conservative” only in the latter-day use of the word as a cover for all sorts of anti-New Deal politics, hatred of the poor and minorities and support of corporate America.

Right. Historically, “conservative” has never been synonymous with “using the Federal government as a sledgehammer”, but Republicans are all too willing to embrace that Big Government they so claim to hate when it serves their interests.
