Nope. They’d have to have some standards first, before they could break them. Fox and Fellow Travelers is not journalism, and barely pretends to be.
I think they meant that getting caught was not standard practice. They want to know who left the evidence lying around.

They act like this because other major TV news outlets let them act like this. When the rest of the cable political press stop allowing Fox News in to their press pools or stops sharing their feed with them and begins calling them out, daily, Fox News will continue to do this. The press needs to hold their own accountable, unfortunately TPM can’t do it alone, though I applaud them for doing so.

They violated a cardinal rule of Fox “journalism”: Don’t get caught. Any other violations of journalistic standards that aid the right wing are fine and dandy.
