When he won the primary, I was genuinely worried he could modulate his message to win the general election – but he is obviously compromised in self-regulation and inhibition and has poor mental organizational skills. He just acts out and blurts out what ever is floating through his thoughts at any given moment. Certainly, something has gone terribly wrong with his brain.

OT: I’m mad TPM linked to Trump’s rally but not Michelle’s. Talk about fucked up priorities. Watch it, she is literally destroying Trump. I never imagined people in her position would ever deliver this sort of speech.

Someone else posted this, but it’s worth repeating: Trump is the adult version of the affluenza punk from Texas. He has no normal human boundaries and he’s been deranged by his own sense of importance. He’s really just a putz with deep, deep, deep insecurities and perverted behavior, but somehow skates by because of his wealth. He’s a commoner in every significant way, as well as being an admitted sexual predator.

She said that at the time, some sexist comments did not resonate with her because she was used to sexism in the construction business.
Same thing in any male dominated industry. Men and women know it just like all people black or white know black people get treated differently.
Edit: Yes it’s better than it’s been, but still needs to get better, and the Republican/conserative denial that it’s fixed is BS and not helping.

Yes she eloquently denounces Mr. Trump and all the negativity he has symbolized, but more importantly she was an eloquent and powerful voice for the positives that Secretary Clinton brings to the campaign and the direction of the country.
Outstanding speech.
I hope she will not hide away in the future. I suspect she will neither be inclined, nor be allowed, to do anything but step forward and take up the challenges to come.

Some of them may, but I assume that women who are fine living with male Trump fanatics are not exactly Gloria Steinem fans. I have known many female college students - bright, articulate, career-focused - who are very enthusiastic, even alt-right, supporters. Some are the kind of women who will terminate their own “inconvenient” pregnancies while shrieking that other women terminating pregnancies are “murderers”.
In fact I was once informed by a female undergrad that I (a cisgender, hetero, white female married to a cisgender, hetero, white male) was both a race and gender traitor because we chose not to have children. It’s a small part of why I gave up on teaching. At the end of the day, I choose to view with awe and wonder the manifold variety of humankind…from a safe distance.

Oh, great. The whole country, including several blameless women, has to suffer so Trump can work through his issues with his business going belly up. A good mental health professionsl would have been cheaper for all concerned.

I spent much of my young professional post college years in NYC, and clearly remember Trumps behavior there in the 80’s and 90’s. When they resurrected this flaming ass for The Apprentice, I was floored. Why, I thought, would anyone on the planet be entertained by this narcissistic, sexist, pig? This con man business failure ass??
The GOP, every member of Trumps campaign, and every single one of his supporters deserve every single drowning moment in the tsunami of raw sewage that is about to nail them. There is nothing surprising about these stories of sexual assault, just as there was nothing surprising about Trumps sexist, racist language, his business failures, his tax evasion, his pathological lies, his fascist egomania. NOTHING.
I will be more surprised when the sun rises tomorrow.

I don’t think so. It’s pretty typical offender behavior. Many predators start out committing petty crimes like engaging in Peeping Tom behavior or flashing. Gradually, over time they will become more comfortable, more emboldened, and unable to control themselves and will graduate to greater forms of assault.
With Trump, I’m guessing that like a lot of sexual offenders he probably started out harassing/assaulting maids and waitstaff, women on the lowest rung and with the least agency. There’s probably an entire file cabinet full of NDAs and check stubs from women he paid to keep quiet over the years. I’m sure there are also dozens of sex workers who’ve serviced Trump, but those women are too easy to dominate. It’s no fun for a predator to dominate someone who is allowing him to do it and is accepting of it. Over time, someone like Trump would grow bored with “the help” and would seek women who see themselves as equals or who he sees as challenges, women who “think they’re better than him”. Those are the women who are coming forward now, women

I’m not sure where you where you went to college, but I feel badly for your experience. I have never, ever, 60 years on, met a white college educated alt right women. From a real college/university. Ever.
