Discussion: Former RNC Chair: Trump's Birtherism is 'Bullshit Racism'

And yet Steele goes on TV and still attacks Hillary. And probably will vote for Trump.

What ever Steele.

I know. Steele acts like racism is some new and startling revelation within the Republican party. Yet, the minute he was put into position as head of the RNC, Republicans were like, “My OWN PARTY no longer represents me!” And freaked out. “First, we put a half-white guy in office, and I suddenly felt like my country no longer represented my interests, and now it’s my own party is all shot to hell.”

Riiiigggggghhhhhtttttt…

He’s right that today’s GOP would never nominate Reagan. Of course if Jesus Christ Himself had been running in the GOP primary, he would have been relentlessly attacked as a dangerous swarthy middle easterner (and probably a secret Muslim) with socialist tendencies…and of course Trump would have labeled him “Lyin’ Hey-soos.”

Ok, I’m going to say this one time. Hillary Clinton didn’t have a god given right to the nomination. Every single state gets to have their vote count. Sanders had every right to contest the nomination all the way up to the convention. He did and at the convention he gave a full throated endorsement of the Democratic ticket and told his followers to vote for it. Sanders is not Clinton’s problem.

Fuck that. This is my country and I’m staying to fight it out. I don’t care what anyone else does.

Steele was an effective word-fighter for the GOP, “normalizing” for years what was more and more a white nationalist group. Trump is making it so. What Americans cannot fathom is that this 2016 struggle is a fratricidal war between and among 70+% of the population. There are more than enough whites in the U.S, to elect Trump.

All they have to do is to pull the lever in November.

Unfortunately, we minorities couldn’t seal the deal with the larger and most dominant American group. If we could, this election would be such that Trump would not carry a single state. There is also one very important item–which should have every brown-skinned person in the country concerned.

“Shaming racists does not work anymore.”

If you are going to negate the divisive and vitriolic manner in which Sanders ran his campaign you validate my points more than I EVER could.

Maybe he thinks Reince Priebus is on his way out ?

Did you miss how it was in 2008? How nasty it was in 1992? This was not an especially divisive nominating process.

Michael Steele, who has never figured out why the laughter at the Republican Club died when he walked into the room…

This is weird. Call him out on racism for the birther debacle. Then praise a a guy who played the race card (Philadelphia, MS, anyone?) whose successor played the race card (Willie Horton, anyone?). Gotta love Republicans. Cultism outweighs racism any day.

I always feel bad for the tokenists that are in the Republican Party. They just can’t or won’t see that nobody in the party really respects them as anything other than window dressing. I wish they would come over to the other side. We can use everyone in building a better future.

Regardless of, Reince is gone before the year is up. The only sticking point is the narrative.

The more I see of Reince Priebus (“The Obvious Anagram”), the more I like Michael Steele. He is, so far, one of the few Republicans I’ve heard of who has actually denounced Hair Furor. A day late and a dollar short, but I’ll take it.

Steele was always a main street republican. Economically conservative, pro-business. He’s never been a god and guns Republican. It’s just that that species of Republican is endangered now. He’s so out of place.

He definitely is. He’s from the Koch wing of the party, and those guys got beaten like a redheaded rented step-mule. If Trump wins, someone like Bannon is going to be running the party. If he loses, there will be an asskicker put in to clear out Trump and all his works. Either way, back to Wisconsin for Reince.

Was he ever ‘in place’ ?

excuse me but mikey don’t you remebe the Reagan used that despicable southern strategy using the fear of blacks for political purpouses to get that southern white vote…oh by the way your st Ronnie raygun was a traitor to this country and a felon to boot…just cause the dems were to chicken shit to go after him like they were to go after bush and cheney doesn’t mean that they didn’t commit crimes while in office…
