That’s what working in a “Right to Work” state will do for you.
Texas is a Right-to-Work state but even here you have to present a plausible reason for firing someone.
It’s about money. In a proper termination the ex-employee doesn’t get unemployment compensation, but a “termination without cause” is treated as a layoff and the ex-employer get a bill for the unemployment compensation that is paid.
Texas has a bureau that decides these things and they don’t rubber-stamp it for the employer every time.
I’m going to guess that “raising the flag wrong” wouldn’t be a good enough.
