Much better than my response. Soon as I typed it I realized that of course, these idjuts would know by now that they won’t go blind. But, they probably attribute that to confession and an otherwise god-fearing life.

That is a startlingly authentic picture.

I sometimes contemplate these folks’ lives. I have to think this isn’t what they wanted for themselves, and I wonder whether there’s anything they could do to escape what appear to be massively unsatisfying lives.

I suspect they really phone it in when it comes to self-care. And that leads me to suspect that they are at least partially victims of a society that carefully controls access to mates, and which has always kept them on the wrong side of the velvet rope.

Nobody is born shitty. They become that way, and only some of that is fairly attributable to free will.
