Discussion: Flynn Shakes Up His Legal Team After Sentencing Memo Debacle

Barr can investigate all he wants, but Flynn pleaded guilty. It’s hard to vacate that plea, which the court accepted.

I would like to see him locked up just because of his behavior during the convention, though there are better reasons.

Well I am not holding out hope for justice. Barr and crew was given a pass by Sullivan on his demands. Manafort was given a pass by his judge. Congress looks to give Trump a pass but use him for political fodder.

None of this is helping anyone who really needs help. The system is broken and all it is doing is giving politicians something to do or run on.

Sorry but I am discouraged.

Don’t be surprised if that happens.

Not a lawyer, so wondering the rules here. Can he do this unilaterally, or can the judge block it?

If it’s justice for the wrongdoings of rich, white men that you’re seeking the planet you want is :arrow_heading_up:.

That the truth shall eventually be revealed may be the best outcome we can expect.

They sure do. The judge I worked for denied a few last minute motions to withdraw as counsel close to the trial date. The cases then settled prior to the trial.

Don’t ask me, but the next time I’m following an ambulance I’ll ask a lawyer.

My guess is Flynn is running out of money. He paid the price as long as it was completely necessary but now will go with less expensive reps. I hope he gets time. He is a despicable person. If anyone in this mess (besides Trump) deserves jail time it is him.

The judge seems to understand that Flynn is a traitor who has turned against his partners in crime in order to save his butt.

And it’s naive to believe that Flynn has suddenly become clean and is no longer involved in the coverup of treasons.

Does that mean the Feds can use everything he admitted to try him? How would that even work? He has been spilling the beans for years and now he is going to take it all back? How does that work?

Didn’t Manafort try something similar? Maybe he could give Flynn some advice from Rykers.

Similar, yes, and look where that got him. May Flynn join Manafort soon.

According to @emptywheel, he could be tried as an illicit agent of Turkey.

Well hopefully the sentencing can be dragged out to February 2021.

I should live so long. Add this to my complaint.

Stalling?..last minute pardon as trump faces lose in 2020? Good thing is that other indictments continue to proceed flynn can be subject to additional charges…

After pushback by prosecutors, Judge Sullivan unexpectedly withdrew his order that they make publicly available the transcript of the Kislyak-Flynn conversation as well as the redacted parts of Mueller concerning Flynn. Has anything been published explaining this about-face? Sullivan was expected to explode.

Barr is doing his damnedest to get Assange extradited to the States now too. Which also seems counter-intuitive, but has to be some scheme to round up all the conspirators and give them pardons. Barr has some master plan with all this. Starting to think knee-capping him first is the way to go to derail whatever he’s up to. Hope Congress does hold him in contempt on Tuesday.

So that is what the pardon is about? Hum. I see that move backfiring on the GOP but who knows. Thank you, @ralph_vonholst.
