the original CNN story is odd… while it says that Gaetz confirmed the messages, there is no sourcing at all for the original information. I mean, not even “a knowledgeable source told CNN…” Its just “messages obtained by CNN”
In other words, out of the blue, someone dumps two of Flynn’s DM to Gaetz.
And CNN just reports it, as if its a perfectly normal thing to do.
It is long past time to open an investigation into every Florida Republican.

Additionally, CNN and Politico report that Flynn messaged Gaetz the day of Attorney General Bill Barr’s confirmation in February. Flynn sent Gaetz GIFs of a bald eagle and an American flag without any accompanying text.
This is pretty rich coming from Flynn. He should have sent a picture of a red star and a bear instead. Or maybe to make it more obvious to Gaetz, a hammer and sickle.
Wasn’t there some information much earlier in this national nightmare about Gaetz receiving the stolen DNC information for his election in 2016? He’s been dirty from the get go.

And it’s way past tedious. I’m so sick of ‘Breaking News’ on all the political shows. I swear, three minutes in and you can tell if we’re just getting more of the same with different shades of ‘this is important’. A tenth grader can catch Trump lying and we don’t need a panel of prosecutors or a constitutional scholars telling us Barr is a liar and a hack , representing Two Scoops as his personal attorney.
I only need to know the date for Mueller’s appearance before House and Senate committees. Just the f’ing date!

Just days before key EU elections, Austria’s coalition government was plunged into crisis on Saturday as far-right party leader and Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache came under huge pressure to resign after explosive revelations from a hidden camera sting.
Media reports emerged on Friday alleging that Strache promised public contracts in return for campaign help from a fake Russian backer.
Germany’s Der Spiegel and Sueddeutsche Zeitung published hidden-camera recordings of a sting operation they say took place in a luxury villa on the island of Ibiza a few months before 2017’s parliamentary elections in Austria.
In the recordings Strache and his party’s group leader in parliament Johann Gudenus are seen discussing with a woman purporting to be the niece of a Russian oligarch how she can invest in Austria.
She says she specifically wants to gain control of the country’s largest-circulation tabloid, the Krone Zeitung.
Strache is seen suggesting that new owners could make staff changes at the Krone and use the paper to help his Freedom Party (FPOe) in its election campaign.
He goes on to suggest the woman would then be able to gain access to public contracts.
According the newspapers, Strache says that there would be no resistance among the Krone’s editorial staff as “journalists are the biggest whores on the planet”.
Both the newspapers that published the footage say they don’t have any firm information over who set up the elaborate sting.
This is a RW Nationalist government who recenty ordered a raid on their own intelligence ageny’s offices. Sound familiar? Looks like Vlad has been whispering in ears. Austrians are in the streets demanding tbat the chancellor resign. Strache, the vice Chancellor has just resigned.
I shouldn’t be, but I’m a bit surprised by this revelation as I had thought Flynn was remorseful and was being the Boy Scout, based on Mueller recommending no jail time for him. Perhaps I should have been more skeptical, especially after the Judge in the case ripped Flynn to shreds.
But then, how do we square this circle? Why was Mueller so lenient? Was it because he thinks or suspects Flynn was basically following orders -from Trump? I don’t really get this. Was Flynn, like Manafort, playing a double game behind Mueller’s back? Mueller seems, at best, to have been awfully naive as to how thoroughly corrupt Trump’s team were/are.
ETA: do they not monitor cellphone communications of those in a plea deal or is that still verboten?

If you talk with narcotics officers, they’ll tell you how the biggest problem with working drug cases is the people involved are all users and criminals and have very little credibility because of their addiction. The more hardened officers will say things like “they’re all dirt bags, you can’t trust any one of them.”
The parallels here are astounding, however, in drug cases, addiction is their excuse. What’s the excuse of this den of shitheads in this “Administration?”
