But others, including Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, expressed fear that Mueller’s appointment would impede Congress’ work.

Congress’ work, what a laugh. All the rethugs need is a broom and a rug and they will be happy.

Gosh …

How are they ever going to get around to legislating to ’ help ’ the people ? ? …

Graham needs to resign from Congress and focus his efforts on something he might be good at: Mixing mint juleps at the Saturday afternoon band concerts in the park.

Why Trump might resign…BTW Who pays for Trump’s attorneys if he’s the defendant?

Math:

Number of reported Senate Investigators on the Clinton Email Inquiry: 42

Number of reported Senate Investigators on the Trump*-Russia Inquiry: 7

42 - 7 = Cover up; Foot-dragging & Deliberate Resource Starvation

…never on their agenda…but they sure are putting the screws to ā€˜the people’… Betsy DeVos slashings, Net Neutrality undone, David(StrangleTheDemocrats)Clarke (who brings home souvenirs from his Russia trips) taking over DHS.

Lotsa stuff gettin’ done…

ā€œYou’ve got a special counsel who has prosecutorial powers now, and I think we in Congress have to be very careful not to interfereā€ with his investigation, Graham said. ā€œIt’s going to really limit what Congress can do. …

IOW: We won’t be able to rant about the leaks being the real problem. The Special Counsel will concentrate on the facts, not the hyperbole. I would assume that WH staffers will be questioned in order to validate, or not, the leaked information.

ā€œSen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) echoed that determination. ā€œObviously we’ll have to go to court to enforce it,ā€ he said.ā€

This strikes me as a very odd statement from a Senator. Why would they have to go to court to enforce their subpoena? The Senate has unilateral power to declare Contempt of Congress, do they not? Is there a constitutional lawyer here that can weigh in on this?

Will it impede Congress’ work more than not assigning any full time staffers to the senate and house investigations? I seem to remember reading that there were several full time staffers dedicated to investigations of Clinton, so it isn’t like they don’t have the manpower.

Yeah, I dropped into comments to say ā€œwell goarsh, Sen. Burr, might help you sort all this stuff out if you brought on more than seven part time investigators.ā€

We do, of course!

I realize every story we read isn’t true but yesterday there was a report that Richard Burr had received over 6 million dollars in campaign donations from Russian backed sources. If this is true it would make him ineligible to head up the Senate investigation of Trump/Russia collusion and connections. I’ll be looking for more on this development.
