Discussion: Florida Dem. Sen. Predicts 'Double Digit' Loss For Rubio In State Primary

Enjoy it while we can. M.T. Suitio won’t be around for us to have fun with much longer, less than 150 hours and counting.

Think of the kind of people who elected Rick Scott. Then think whether they would prefer Rubio or Trump…

Nothing clean about got off Scott free. He won because he runs in off year election cycles and too many Dems just suck at the turnout and vote thingy.

Dave, I generally like your stuff but you really shouldn’t mock one of the most solid Dems we have in the Senate.
I’m from FL, at least in the sense that as an ex-pat I vote there by mail. Nelson is a guy you can count on. Not an inspiring public speaker – I saw him introduce Obama at a rally in Sarasota in '08 – and admittedly not a good-looker either (we have Rubes for that, at least according to some), but why take cheap shots at a stand-up guy? Why take shots at any of our own, for that matter? I don’t get it. You wanna hang separately? I don’t, I want to win. And I want the republic to survive, whether or not I do.

She’ll win by double digits. It’s a closed primary. According to exit polling in Michigan she won with registered Dems there by 18 points, but lost with independents by 43. I take exit polls with a grain of salt, but even if they are just halfway right, it indicates Clinton has a big advantage in a closed primary. Florida also has a smaller non-latino white population, and isn’t as concerned with trade issues as Michigan.

Great point. Mea culpa.

You are so right on this. I do not know what else a candidate could do worse than what Scott did, (now only topped by Snyder) and still get re-elected. Let’s see now, we have Scott, Scott Walker, Rick Snyder, Chris Christie, and the Kansas Governor and Bobby Jindall, and how many more republican Governors that have screwed up about everything they touch, but still get elected. Hum, really says something about the low information voters in this nation.

Polls are iffy things it seems. Clinton was supposed to hammer Sanders in Michigan. Better to wait to see the result. Not that I have any sympathy for Rubio.

Hang in there little Marco:

Rubio better go back to money laundering for the Cuban mafia. Nobody has seen him in Washington for so long that most people think he’s a lobbyist entertaining his GOP clients in the Grand Caymens. He certainly has resembled a presidential candidate for months.
