How hard would it be to put a poison pill into the skinny repeal so that the house Republicans could never simply vote in favor of it? Just include a provision saying that skinny repeal will be in effect for no more than 24 hours. Or, how about a provision which calls for that naked Trump statue to be placed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial? If getting to conference is the GOP goal, and any bill will be good enough to get to conference, why not make the bill so odious that even Republicans in the House couldn’t vote for it?
The fact that Senate Republicans haven’t proposed a poison pill makes me worry that the GOP really views skinny repeal as a backdoor way of undoing healthcare.

We’re going to pretend that we trust these guys - and act all surprised when they vote on the ‘skinny repeal,’ send it to Trump and claim victory (however, we will go to the old number 6 dance after it’s all done).
This confirms the GOP Congress plans to destroy a large part of the health insurance industry and strip over 16 million of health insurance and cause massive increases in premiums. They don’t care the harm such a bill would cause. The fact this bill has the worst approval of any proposed legislation in history is irrelevant to them. All they want is to destroy President Obama’s legacy and allow many millions of Americans to needlessly suffer.
The process is a perfect metaphor for today’s Trump GOP. No public hearings. No input outside of a few GOP politicians. They don’t want to hear from doctors, nurses, patients, hospitals, or anyone else. If this bill passes, a significant part of our economy will suffer great harm, and many millions will be exposed to a far less healthy life.
The greatest threat to the American people are today’s GOP.
Never thought they were serious. They wouldn’t have voted to proceed if they had ever been serious. Now watch them celebrating and laughing with Pee while millions are losing their coverage.
